Abstract The accessibility factors of the tourist city is usually explained as the accessibility of traffic. The paper interpretls the concept and divides it into several parts:the accessibility of traffic,the adaptability of in frastructure and the acceptability of culture of the city. A demonstrative study concerning of the accessibility and tourist behavior is based on a sample survey in some tourist sites of Xi'an, as well as an analysis of tourism expectancy fore-and-aft they enter the city.The paper first analyses the original obstacle expectancy of tourists; and then evaluates 16 accessibility factors of Xi'an by the method of PATTERN; finally, it weighs each factors. Based on the vesiclt, the paper comesup with the countermeasures of marketing and construction to improve the accessibility of Xi'an.
