Abstract This paper develops analytical frameworks of regional development strategies. It introduces two sets of frameworks:Functional Integration Approach vs. Territorial Development Approach and Exogenous (Externally Assisted) Development Approach Vs. Indogenous Development Approach. The paper has articulated the differences in the developed goals, implementation means, and expected effects of each approach. It is believed that the frameworks are useful as guidelines in Selecting, organizing, and implementing development strategies for a certain planning projects. The author, however, suggests that case studies are needed in testing the usefulness of the frameworks.
