Abstract Expounding the definition of behavioral geography and surveying its historical development, this paper holds that the introduction and development of behavioral geography not only enlarges and enriches the field of the study and contents of China's geography, but also offsets the defect of overlooking the element of "man" in the study of man land relationship in China's conventional geography, enriches and develops the theory of human geography. So, the development of behavioral geography in China will have a great impact on the contemporary geographiccal construction of China and its sustainable development.
