Abstract  China is a country short of forest reserves. However, what deserves more worries is that even the very forests have been unreasonably felled and destroyed during the past decades. The area has reduced by 24%. The rapid reduction has worsened the ecological environment. Droughts and floods yncreased. Soil erosion became serious. Land and grasslands were reduced to deserts. Air pollution was aggravated.
Many species of living things are on the point of extinction. This article lists many statistics and examples and points out the serious problem facing the people of our country as well as the solutions to it.
