Abstract Buddhism tourism is an important tourism ways that have been developed for about two thousand years. But as a religious problem, the Buddhism tourism is paid more attention by the public. On the one hands, more and more religious spots are exploited and become an hotspot of tourism; on the other hands, for the special reasons, the tourism in religious spot are warmly debated. Therefore, it will play an important role from the angle of history and development for the Buddhism development.
It shows that the Buddhism tourism have the different forms and contents In different historic periods. At the beginning of the Buddhism tourism, the mainly activity are cultivate oneself according to a Buddhism doctrine and walking around the tree. Then at the stage of Buddhism expand are the preaching and translating the sutra into Chinese. At the fastigium of Buddhism development, the tourism activity show that the studying and worship the mountain. as an the core tourism attraction in the Buddhism tourism.
The development of Buddhism tourism and the function transition of the temple have a very important effects on the modern Buddhism tourism:1) Modern Buddhism still continues and develops the ancient ones essentially, and the Buddhism temple and Buddhism culture are the main tourism attraction for the Buddhism tourism; 2) How to adapt to the development of modern tourism is an important problem that the Buddhism must be faced; 3) To strengthen the tourism function of Buddhism temple is an important way to develop Buddhism tourism.
