Abstract The paper reviews the influence of historical location and social culture to the spatial structure of commercial types in Guangzhou, analyzing how to succeed or innovate the traditional commercial culture in a commercial area. At first, the author points out that today's location of business has been deeply affected by tradition. Then, the author analyses that the diet culture, inhabitation culture and living style, showing that they are the common factors to impact commerce. Most famous traditional brands connect closely with commercial streets. As a part of the business culture, most consumers in Guangzhou city accept these dietetic stores. Modern business type integrates diet tide would be a main direction of urban commercial culture. The architecture style also embodies the business tradition. Riding buildings perfectly show the harmonious relationship between commerce and inhabitation. Following the renovation of living style, some department stores change its management strategy in order to segment aim market. Especially appealing to young people, many theme stores appears in commercial streets.
Finally, the author summarizes the special structure of commercial culture in Guangzhou city. The author considers that traditional commercial zone succeed business culture by building, commercial types and consumers' behavior. Such as Beijing Road and Shangxiajiu Road. They show traditional culture with department stores or commercial streets. Although many modern commercial types come forth at Tianhe Area and the suburbs, the traditional business centers still charm consume rs with its integrated dominance. In the modern commercial zone., the business culture renovation is shown by shopping center or storage marketplace. Such as Tianhe Road and other places. At last, the paper building the "twin-core ring" structure between traditional commercial culture and modern business culture in Guangzhou city.
