Abstract Regional infrastructure, traditionally, is the public service sector constructed for the convenience of socioeconomic activities, the improvement of human living conditions, the overcoming of natural obstacle to guarantee the mutual communion and information sharing. Perfect urban-rural development could be illustrated by the free flow of population, commodities, capital and information between urban and rural areas, which, in some sense, guarantee the effective and efficient uses of resources in urban and rural areas. It is self-evident that the construction of regional infrastructure is a precondition for the sustainable development of urban-rural eco-economic system, or in other word, sufficient infrastructure will benefit the development in concerned regions. On the other hand, the strong interaction between urban and rural areas will promote the construction and improvement of regional infrastructure. Many scholars have paid much attention to relationship between regional infrastructure and urban-rural development now. It has important implications for the construction of infrastructure and improvement of social and economical benefits to find out and assess the relationship between regional infrastructure and urban-rural eco-economic system. The author takes Ankang as the case study area. Some findings are of importance to get insight into the relationship of associative development of regional infrastructure and urban-rural eco-environment system and are of significance to direct the regional infrastructure construction as well as the planning of urban-rural eco-environment system.
