Abstract Economic globalization is the notable feature of this world, and foreign trade is one of the main ways that bring China into the world economy. In this background the paper discusses first by the development of Chinese foreign trade since the "reform and opening",which comprises the increasing total,optimizing structure,and deepening system reform of the foreign trade,etc. Then the paper displays an unbalanced regional pattern of Chinese foreign trade both nationally and abroad,which reflects the limitation of China's opening up. At last,this paper pays close attention to the World Trade Organization,and analyses the affects of the entry of WTO to Chinese economy and foreign trade.
