Abstract High-tech park, as a space that combine science and technology and economy, has been greatly noticed by many states and areas.The high-tech parks in our country were constructed widely with all kinds of economic zones since the open door policy was adopted This article inquires into the function orientation of high-tech park from the view of region, industry, social culture.The authors think that as a specific urban space that is different from a common economic zone, high-tech park is the growth pole of the region.In order to guarantee the sustainable development, it also should pay attention to the social function.Then the authors take Nanjing high-tech park, one of the 53 state-level high-tech parks, as an example, hoping to get some beneficial proposals for the construction and management of high-tech park.Nanjing high-tech park has become a hot point for Nanjing's economic growth, but there is still a long way to go.Its innovation ability is not so good as high-tech parks in Shenzhen and Beijing, and its ability of invitation of foreign business is also not so good as high-tech parks in Shanghai and Suzhou.Facing the second time exploitation and construction, it should still be the high-tech industry research and export foundation of the state, research center of electronics &information in Nanjing, and the bioengineering &pharmacy industry foundation of Nanjing.To form an integrated system, it should develop industry that can unite and innovate the tradition industry of Nanjing, increasing the choosing of foreign advanced technology, developing the industrial service.NHP's region orientation is the innovation center of the north part of Yangtze River Delta, growth pole of Nanjing metropolis and the core of urban area of the River's north part.Some measure should be taken to realize its regional function, including urban spatial restructure of Nanjing metropolis, the reorganization of the resources of the northern part of Yangtze River Delta, administration jurisdiction of urban area of the River's north part, and the construction of expressway system.Finally, the authors propose that NHP should take the lead in developing into a college town, a high-tech talent foundation, and a high-tech culture incubator town of Nanjing.
