Abstract With the further research on ecotourism, ecotourism has infiltrated into the whole tourist system.This paper expounds the implication and progress of ecotourism and points out that ecotourism serves for the development of sustainable tourism.Combining the characteristics and resource of urban tourism, the paper initially puts foward the concept of urban ecotourism, which is a kind of tourism idea based on urban ecology, and puts the idea of ecology into urban ecosystem to prevent this system to be in good motion and achieve sustainable tourism.Then, the feasibility and necessity of exploiting urban ecotourism are discussed.Lastly, it takes Changchun city for example to probe into the exploitation of urban ecotourism.
