The paper discusses the origin and development of Huaihai culture, and analyses the physical and human geographical conditions of formation of the culture. It raises the following viewpoints: ①The physical conditions of Huaihai region, including the Northern Jiangsu, the Southern Shandong, the Northern Anhui and Eastern Henan, are advantageous to the activities of the ancients; ②A model of regional culture has been shaped since ancient times in this region; ③ Huaihai region is one of the birthplace of Chinese ancient culture.
