Abstract Based on the introduction of the process and problems of marine economic geography in our country, from the viewpoints of international background and domestic demand, this paper prospects the future of marine economic geography in our country, analyzes three developing trends of international marine geography and particularly discusses four developing stresses of marine economic geography in our country, i.e. the development and distribution of marine industry, the research on the marine resources and sustainable development, the research on the spatial structure of coastal tourism and the research on the marine geopolitics.
