Abstract This paper reviews J. Freidmann's idea of the future of global city through urban managilism. He thought the developing of global city should focus on those fields: such as spatial organizing of urban and region, administration of regional government, sustainable developing, social community, migrant and internal network of urban area. He insists on that the 21st century is the times of urban commerce and competition. Moreover, that the future of Asia and Pacific area depends on the developing process of society and policy, as same as global city depend on the value and thought of urban administrators and politicians who should owner the ability of innovation.
