Abstract  Urbanization is considered to be one of the most important human activities in the recent history of China. The high-speed urbanization process faced many severe problems, including facing the socio-economic deprivation, resource scarcity and environmental degradation. Healthy urbanization is one of policy responses to current research and policy dilemmas of urbanization in China, the adaptive, prospective reflection and regulation for traditional urbanization mode. Healthy urbanization is a kind of systematic project, relating to the fundamental transformation of socio-economic structure, production and life style, the transformation of industrial structure, new industry cultivation, the overall adjustment and transition of urban and rural social structure, as well as coupling and adaptive relationships between urban industry and resource-environment. Inclusive growth is increasingly becoming a national priority to promote healthy urbanization in China. Based on the analysis of the connotation of healthy urbanization and inclusive growth, it is concluded that inclusive growth is beneficial to harmonious development and a pathway orientation of healthy urbanization advancement, and a new realization mechanism of healthy urbanization pro motion. In the current Chinese context, healthy urbanization associated with inclusive growth is definitely considered not only as means to further boost economic growth but also improve people's life. Indeed, healthy urbanization related to inclusive growth, as an issue of practical significance for China, has been essential for sustained economic development, poverty and inequity reduction. Obviously, healthy urbanization project under the guidance of inclusive growth policy should be promoted to map health and equity in most cities of China.
