Abstract The research on the correlation between Social Impacts Scale of Conventions(SCSI) and independent variables is an important part of convention social impact research. The results showed that the impact of independent variables on the common factors was very limited. Sex, place of residence, the length of residence, educational level, income and working in the related industry were significantly correlated with the perception of SISC. The case study of "Canton Fair" shows the following six facts. Firstly, the perception of individual income for female was stronger than that of the male's. Secondly, residents of the Haizhu district of Guangzhou City had the strongest negative perception for "Canton Fair" while the residents of the Yuexiu district of Guangzhou City had the strongest positive perception for "Canton Fair" than any other districts' residents of Guangzhou. Thirdly, people who live longer in Guangzhou had more negative perceptions for "Canton Fair" than other people. Fourthly, people who get deeper education had more negative perceptions for "Canton Fair". Fifthly, people who get higher income get the weakest perceptions for individual income. Sixthly, individual income perceptions of the people who work in the convention industry or related industries were stronger than that of the people who does not work in the related industries.
