ANALYSIS OF THE ECONOMIC COMPETITIVE POWER OF XI'AN HIGH-TECH INDUSTRIES DEVELOPMENT ZONE |

Abstract As high-tech industries become the focus of regional competition, the competition between high-tech Zones is becoming more severe. The authors have done the following studies to analyze the economic development level of Xi'an High-tech Industries Development Zone. At first, 53 national-level High-tech Zones in the whole country are classified into five classes by cluster analysis and are ranked by factor analysis. Xi'an High-tech Industries Development Zone has ranked top 10 in the whole country. Then the authors choose 30 High-tech Zones which are developing better and comparable with Xi'an High-tech Industries Development Zone, and make further analysis from five aspects, including average economic scale of the enterprises,average gross value of industrial output per capita, competitive power of market, transformation ability of technology etc. According to the above analyses,although Xi'an High-tech Industries Development Zone is superior in human resources, scientific innovation and product development, it has no obvious advantages over Chengdu and Wuhan High-tech Industries Development Zones.At last,the authors have advised improving the economic competitive power of Xi'an High-tech Industries Development Zone from such aspects as industrial environment, attracting foreign merchants and capitals, soft and hard environment and so on.
