Abstract Based on structuralism human geography method, this paper puts forward the view that the rationalization of structure is the key factor which decides the level of regional tourism development because structures decide mechanisms which decide the kernel. With J. Piaget's views on three characteristics of structures including integrity, transformation mechanism and self-regulation, the author analyzes the spatial structures of the unconcerned tourism hub by making a responding research of each of the three major aspects. The paper tries to shed new light on their congruent relationships that tourism hub plays an adhesive role during the process of evolvement from single-point competition to regional package development. The author argues that the perfect distributing structure should be a pentagon-centric dynamic system and discusses intervening measures to improve and stabilize structures. Furthermore, the priorities and the focal points of developing tourism hub are the improvement of the system of public tourism services, but not the increase of the investment in local scenic spots. In conclusion, firstly, this paper puts forward the view that the status of tourism hubs which is of great potentiality and value shall not be lower than the tourism destinations for its scarcity. Therefore, scholars should pay more attention to this field. Secondly, the spatial construction of regional tourism with tourism hubs is a natural tourism development, rather than an advance planning by planners. It is necessary to study on the regional implosion, transition and radiation of tourists, capital, goods, and information flows because tourism hubs provided not only tourism business but also tourists with more high-quality, efficient service. Thirdly, structural balance and perfection should be paid great attention in the optimization of the spatial construction of regional tourism, so construction of tourism hub should not only put its emphasis on tourism attractions, but especially on system of public tourism services in order to steady their structures and improve their general quality.
