Abstract ccording to the theoretical analysis of the relevant elements of the form of port cities,this paper puts forward the rules for the change of the form of the port cities and the change rules for the form of river coastal port cities. Then according to the practical analysis of the change of the form of the Ningbo city throughout the history,this paper puts forward the rational developping of the form of the Ningbo city.
