Abstract As the national base of energy resources,heavy industry and chemical industry,Shanxi's industry structure presents a feature of "copsided heavy industry". In recent years,the contradiction between this structure and market is becoming increasingly conspicuous,and Shanxi's industry is in a state of depression. If Shanxi wants to develop its industry vigorously,regional cooperation is shortcut. Shanxi province has the advantage of bordering the Area Around Bohai,and resources complement exists between the two areas,and besides,they have had fairly good history of cooperation. As the centre of the national economic construction is moving to the middle and west areas of the country,Shanxi,being on the edge of the middle area,is the first to undergo transformation. Shanxi province should keep hold of the good opportunity,and reinforce its industrial coorperation with the Area Around BoHai in all fieles,on all levels and through all possible channels. This paper aims to explore the ways of such cooperation.
