Abstract this paper analyzes the types and characteristics of the coastal island tourism in Mainland China, studies the three stages and three patterns of its development; based on the analysis and study above, this paper concludes the characteristics, external forms, and problems of safety issue in coastal island tourism in Mainland China, finally, this paper pertinently puts forward the managerial strategies about the safety issue mentioned above.
