Abstract A cognitive map is the complete expression of environment image components, distance between images and direction information. It synthetically reflects the interaction between residents and cites. A Cognitive map is one of the core subjects in Behavior Geography. Along with the rising of Behavior Geography recently, the study of cognitive map presents a favorable tendency. And it becomes a crossed research subject of Psychics, Cognition science, and GIS. Based on the spatial analysis of cognitive map, this article discusses scratch map analysis, cognitive map distortion, toponym cognition/cognition distance/urban structure cognition, the property of residents in cognition, and brings up the direction to analysis in China.
