Abstract The authors calculated regional differences of inbound tourism foreign exchange earnings, item disparities of income structure and their evolution from 1997 to 2009 by standard deviation, coefficient of variability, the ratio of regional inbound tourism earnings to total earnings and decomposition of Gini coefficient. The results show that absolute difference of inbound tourism foreign exchange earnings increases gradually, relative difference alleviates, share of inbound tourism of less developed and developed area is downtrend and is uptrend in developed area. Gini coefficient of each item of tourism foreign exchange earnings all assume downward trend. Contribution degree of Gini coefficient of traffic and shopping income is more than others. Structure effects make less positive contributions for total Gini coefficient's decline. Concentration effects have a crucial importance on variation of Gini coefficient. Synthetic effects make slender negative contributions for total Gini coefficient's dropping as a whole. Structure effects, concentration effects and synthetic effects of every item of inbound tourism foreign exchange earnings have more complicated variation and act different roles for total Gini coefficient's dropping. The correlation analysis indicates that GDP,the condition of traffic, tourism resources and wholesale and retail trade has a positive correlation with inbound tourism revenues. Thus the authors concluded that it is prerequisite for gradually reducing the gap of inbound tourism income to accelerate economy development and promote traffic accessibility of the less-developed areas, utilize advantages to natural and historical resource to develop higher tourism scenic spots. In the end the author points out to really reduce the difference of inbound tourism, according to preceding text analysis, the most important measures must be that improving the road conditions and develop high-end specialty shops and shopping street, strengthening support services, for instance, build high-end hotels.
