A STUDY ON THE CHARACTERISTICS OF HAINAN INBOUND TOURISM SEASONALITY AND REGULATION MEASURES |

Abstract Tourism seasonality is a change in tourism and tourism industry within the time in a yearly time span.In this paper,the characteristic and influential factors of inbound tourism seasonality were studied based on the inbound tourism statistical data from 2006 to 2010 of Hainan province.The data is from Hainan tourism government affairs nets.Through calculating the daily tourism index Si and the concentration index of tourism seasonality R,the main conclusions included:1) The high season of Hainan tourism is November to the next April.2) By calculating the concentration index of tourism seasonality R,in recent years,the intensity of Hainan inbound tourism seasonality is weakening gradually.3) In Hainan different inbound tourist market,the value R of Macao is the highest,so the intensity of Macao tourism seasonality is the strongest;and the intensity of foreign tourists market、Hong Kong and Taiwan weakens successively;Selected Russia,Singapore,South Korea,Malaysia and Japan as the sample,they were found that find the characteristic of different foreign countries' tourism seasonality has difference in the foreign tourists market.4) The natural seasonal factors play a leading role in causing the Hainan inbound tourism seasonality,while social seasonal factors add some minor effects to the change of inbound tourism seasonality caused by natural seasonal factors;besides,some emergencies have effects on tourism seasonality.5) Such as controlling prices,improving tourism facilities,enriching tourism products,strengthening marketing tool,through which can expand Hainan inbound tourism and narrow the gap between high seasons and low seasons.
