A STUDY OF THE STRUCTURE, LOCATION AND TRAIT OF “ZHEJIANGCUN” IN THE SOUTH OF BEIJING

Abstract  Along with the reform and opening policies, many periphery groups came into being in Beijing inner suburb. They are so-called "so-and-so cun(village)" according to the place where the people come. This article introduces the distribution of "Zhejiangcun" at first. It defines private producers and businessmen from Zhejiang Province who work in Beijing as the population of "Zhejiangcun". It explains the population, the territorial structure, registration structure, cultural structure and age structure of "Zhejiangcun". In the light of the county, country/town, and village where the people come, "Zhejiangcun" is regarded as three levels territorial structure. The author thinks that the special dialect, same territorial relation and traditional family living style are the main causes. Then it discusses the location mechanism of "Zhejiangcun", Under the reform and opening policies, with the Zhejiangcun thought of commodity economy and the Beijing market attraction, "Zhejingcun" has finally located in the southern fringe of Beijing. The last part of the article analyzes the trait of "Zhejiangcun", thinks it as an opening system. It refers that the supporting industry of "Zhejiangcun" is garments processing only, which is to supply the middle and low markets of China, and some eastern European countries; it refers that the non basic activities of "Zhejiangcun" are to service itself necessary living demands; it emphasizes that there are few channels to communicate between "Zhejiangcun" and Beijing in every respect.
