Abstract The man-environment relationship is an essential part of human-geographic studies. This paper, by analysing the similarity between the evolution of folklore and the development of man-environment relationship in various stages of history, in human development, as well as in regional differences, and by analysing the future tendency of the above-mention relationship, seeks for new approaches to (and their feasibility for) the harmonization of manenvironment relationship.
