Abstract  The time use research, served as an important dimension for understanding human activities and arrangements, has played a significant role in improving the quality of life. Previous studies have described and interpreted the impact of urbanization in urban China from the perspective of individuals' time use. However, few researches focus on the changes of time use patterns using cross-data in different years. This paper explores changes in time use of workers living in Beijing in the past 10 years. The datasets are based on the data from two activity-travel diary surveys conducted in Beijing in 2007 and 2017. The dataset finally comprise data with one-day activity-travel dairy from 809 individuals in 2007 and 668 individuals in 2017. Descriptive statistics, spatial analysis and regressive analysis are used to analyze the changes in time use. Firstly, the results show that time allocation has changed in the past 10 years; workers in 2017 spend relatively long time on individual activities and traveling, while the time spent on work, housework, leisure and shopping has significantly decreased. Secondly, the changes of space-time behavior patterns varies among people with different demographic backgrounds, for example, the difference in time duration of work between men and women decreases, and the difference in frequency of personal care between young people and the elderly increased. Finally, regression analysis shows that the influence of gender, age, education level and housing source on time use is weaker than that of 10 years ago.
