Abstract:The tourism market based on what is known as "The Silk Road" has good prospects but it has been greatly hampered by uneven development. "Silk Road Tourism" can be thought of as a big line development project with great possibilities. However, in the long-term, its true potential remains untapped due to low system coupling levels. This paper argues that organizational problems such as Silk Road tourism functional coupling and Silk Road tourism functional coordination development may be solved by good strategic design and the development of innovative technological tools. Today, information technology serves many industries, including tourism, to transmit ideas and support development. Digital Tourism, a new and growing form of tourism activity, has become a handy way to spur on the development of all kinds of tourism. This paper seeks to distinguish the different stages and different forms that are used by the tourism information process and also to summarize the functions which will play a vital role in long line Digital Tourism development in the region. A successful system of Digital Tourism can be best achieved by constructing a Silk Road Tourism Information Technology Engine aimed at enhancing tourism development. This would help to support a "model", or qualitative leap in the tourism market based on the Silk Road area. There are five main strategic functions in long line Digital Tourism development:improving functions, coordination of functions, catalytic function, pioneering function. This author has put forward a three level network to achieve the construction of a Silk Road information station.
