Abstract：This paper briefly explains the meaning, crux and practical significace of sustainable development, expounds the strategic thought and goal, and discusses the regional exploitation with the realization of sustainable development. The author thinks that the regional exploitation must meet the demands of sustainable development strategy and the formulation of regional exploitation policy must carry out the thought of sustainable development.
