Abstract：Human geography in P. R. China began with reviving in 1978. This paper is intented to systematically review the course, achievement and problems of development of human geography in P. R. China since 1978. The author hold that the major problems on human geography development is lack of the theoretical construction and the new fields and directions creation;In 90s we should conbine theory with practice, and emphasize to research the four fields, e. g.: sustaining development of population, economy and society, hazards adaptation and adjustment, geography of enterprises, and regional science.
