Abstract:Financial capital is one of the core elements of production, financial capital is less concerned in the early study of economic geography because of its immateriality and the accumulation of industrial production. With the frequent financial fluctuations and the rapid development of virtual economy in the process of globalization, financial resources have gradually become the key factor for the development and growth of modern economy. Based on the network data of foreign banks and the chain network model, this paper constructs the space network of Chinese foreign banks in 1990, 2001 and 2015, and analyses the structural characteristics. Finally, it explores the influencing factors of the spatial distribution of foreign banks by means of conditional logit model. The results show that:1) The small-world network of China's foreign banks financial network has obvious characteristics, with a larger agglomeration coefficient and a smaller average path length, and the network characteristics and core-edge structure of local-area small groups in the network are obvious. 2) With the steady growth of the network scale, the orderliness of the network shows an increasing trend, the financial connectivity and financial accessibility of the network increase, the efficiency of financial transmission and organization further improve, and the phenomenon of core-edge structure intensifies. 3) The dominant factors of the spatial distribution of foreign banks are different in different periods.
