Abstract：Bo th the experiences abroad and at home of local development tell that big and mid-sized cities are major places and first objectives of development and investment in the west part and the improvement of the investment environment is the most important way for the development. With the technique of factor analysis and based on spss 10.0, the investment environment in 32 big and mid-sized cities in this part are comprehensively examined and classified according to the result to provide scientific bases for the improvement of environment and the investment.
