So it is not only the dynamic and opportunity, but also pressure and challenge. Great attention should be paid to the use of mega-event effect. By taking 2010 Shanghai EXPO for instance, the author explores the mutual development of 2010 Shanghai EXPO and the urban tourist space. Located in Huangpu River waterfront area between Lupu Bridge and Nanpu Bridge, the EXPO garden congregates large mount of tourism-related industries. The EXPO garden becomes new tourist landmark and growth pole, constructs waterfront landscape belt along Huangpu River, combines the traffic between two banks and promotes the development of Huangpu River toward world-class waterfront landscape. The most important is that the EXPO garden restructures and balances Shanghai urban tourist spatial structure which takes on balanced and multi-poles pattern.
