Abstract  Social equity of low-income group is an important issue in the process of urban development for long, and has gradually become a big challenge to China since opening up policy. The research of social exclusion covers multiple areas such as politics, economy, culture and so on. In recent years, spatial-temporal activity has become a new perspective to discuss social exclusion of low-income group with the rapid development of Space-time theory. However, systematical measurement and analysis is still lack of in relative. Therefore, case research of 12 typical residential districts in Guangzhou from April, 2013 to June 2013 is done to build up an analytical framework of social exclusion from the aspect of outdoor activity. Based on descriptive statistics of 1605 residents, the research aims to go deep into the measurement and mechanism of spatial-temporal exclusion through daily outdoor activity. The research found out that obvious difference exists between low-income group and whole resident group in the degree of social exclusion while low-income residents group got the lowest score in four income groups, which means that they experience a serious social exclusion in daily outdoors activity. More specifically, the score of low income group is much lower than three other groups either in activity area or in activity activeness, either on weekdays or on weekend. This kind of activity exclusion is influenced by a comechanism from three different levels, urban level, community level and individual level.
