Abstract：This paper compares the urban internal spatial structure between Chinese cities and Japanese cities from both aspects:urban land-use pattern and residence activity space structure, based on the case studies of Lanzhou City and Hiroshima City.The different mechnism formating the urban internal spatial structures was explained by a home-work relationship viewpoint.
