There are different urbanization processes and historical background in China and Germany, so the pattern of urbanization and integrity of urban and rural areas differs in industrialized and developed areas. In this paper, beginning with the universal principle of industrialization and urbanization especially the three stages of urbanization, the author introduced the background and the present status of industrialization and urbanization of China and Germany and discussed the reason and impetus to this two countries' development after the Second World War. In the second part, based on the comprehensive investigation, the author summarized the experience in the process of integrity of urban and rural areas in Rhine Ruhr Areas, which could be used for reference in the development of Chinese developed areas:re cultivation on open pit and environmental recovery; extending the urban renewal plan and reconstructing the traditional cities in diggings; building express way and improving the regional connection, etc. In the third part, the author analyzed the conditions of integrity of urban and rural areas in China especially in the Yangtze Delta, and considered that integrity of urban and rural areas should be carried into execution in this developed area. At last, the author concluded that a sustainable integrity of urban and rural areas should be the correct choice to Yangtze Delta, and some suggestions to the future development of this areas are given:harmonizing the development of center city and satellite towns in Shanghai, which is the core of Yangtze Delta, and promoting the organic evacuation of population; carrying through a uniform territory planning in the area(a radius of 150 kilometers) around Shanghai, and definitely plotting each kind of land use; breaking through the regionalism, harmonizing the planning and construction in Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang, especially the pivotal projects which must be helpful to harmonious development of integrity of urban and rural areas, etc.
