A STUDY ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF URBANIZATION AND INDUSTRIALIZATION: A RESEARCH BASED ON CENTRAL SHAANXI PROVINCE

Abstract：Industrialization, the driving force of urbanization, leads the city's development direction, while urbanization offers the carriers and platform to urbanization. As the general rules, both of industrialization and urbanization are interactive, closely related, and mutually productive. Following the rules discussed in the essay, to achieve their positive interaction and development of industrialization and urbanization, will greatly promote sustained development of economy and make rapid progress of society. Otherwise, if we don't follow the rules, the negative interaction of industrialization and urbanization, will make over-urbanization or under-urbanization, which will bring negative effect of the development of social economy. Urbanization lags far behind industrialization in central Shaanxi, thereby the two processes don't coordinate with each other very well, which mainly appears the deviation of singly embedded development model and urbanization and the deviation of regional economies' ties and urbanization. We should enhance the interactive development of urbanization and industrialization on the basis of reality, which can not only correspond to the short-term development but also meet the requirements of the long-term strategy. Based on the reality of the central Shaanxi Province, this paper utilizes literature review and data analysis methods to come up with the basic ideas and specific countermeasures for the problem we discussed before. The following is what we mainly sugguest to solve the problems. Firstly, we should promote the synchronous development of urbanization through the development of industrialization in rural areas. Secondly, we should fully optimize traditional industries typically in military, machinery, textiles and strongly support the emerging industries. Thirdly, we'd better to reform the government management system. We should establish and improve the government guiding organization for the coordinated development of industrialization and urbanization.
