Abstract：The evolution of urban spatial structure shows not only a series of common characteristics determined by physical and productive unity, but the different characteristics caused by cultural variety. By means of systimatically evaluating the explanatory pattern for urban spatial structure in the concern culture type areas, this article indicates that the formation, development and future evolution for urban spatial structure should be grasped more precisely if the comprehensive advantage of explanatory pattern is brought into full play.
