Abstract：On the point of literature geography, this essay explains the regional differences and characteristics of Chinese literature, makes analysis on the multiside relations between literature and geography-environment functioning system; furthermore, it presents a reasonable prospect on the development perspective of "Environmental Literature" resulted on the combination of literature and geography. It points out that Chinese literature shows regional differences in geography. The geographical environment imposes influence on the regional difference of Chinese literature, mainly on the three aspects: influence on the content of the literature works and writers' creative inspiration; influence on the writing style and regional difference of works; influence on the formation of literature sects and consequently the regional literature features, and on the location of literature center. Meanwhile, the geographical environment influences the literature complicatedly, its functioning ways and principles as: firstly, the natural scenes and artificial facts of the geographical environment offer a writer creation sources, typically for poems and writing of the landscape. Secondly, as the important source and reference for the creation of literature, the geographical environment can stimulate a writer's inspiration, let him seize the soul of the environment and create lively and various features of art. Thirdly, as the soil for literature to live on, the geographical environment directly imposes influence on the folklore, language of a region, in turn on the characteristics and regional style of literature works. Finally, as the condition for a writer to live, it helps the writer to form cultural-psychology and esthetics of his own, consequently make great effect on the forming of the writing style of works. And the fourth functioning way turns to be the main aspect of the system. It means the literature, combined with environment, ecological geography is the tendency of the development of literature in 21st century.
