A STUDY ON JOINT-DEVELOPING OF TOURISM REGIONS——A Case Study of Island Tourism Development in Western Guangdong

Abstract：In recent years, island tourism has become a new tourist focus, especially the island tourism in the west of Guangdong province. The first paragraph of the article, the author analyses the characteristics of exploiting island tourism in the world. Island tourism resources includes nature resources and culture resources, "4S" resources, that is Sun、Sand、Sea and Seafood, is the core of the nature resources of island tourism. And it is the most part of the developing island tourism. Many islands have been the most famous tourism spots around the world by its "4S" resources. Based on analyzing the existing development situation of west Guangdong island tourism, the article pointed out that it is very important to build the island tourism region and carry out region jointed development pattern to exploit the island tourism industry in western Guangzhou. In the third paragraph of the article, the paper describes the construction of the island tourism region and the region jointed pattern in details. The gravitation system is the base of the construction of the western tourism regions. In the system, three sub-island areas take together into the gravitation platform of the jointed region, and Jiangmen city is the center city of tourism region. The tourism committee is going to harmonize the relative three sub- island areas' tourism department. And the construction of the west Guangdong island region is the foundation of carrying out region jointed development pattern. The jointed development pattern is explained from guest segment and product design separately. From guest segment aspect, three sub-island area is formed hierarchy system, Hailing island is the first gravitation destination which faced to guest from all country especially nearby province and overseas; Donghai island is the second destination which faced to guest from Zhangjiang city and Maoming city, Guangdong province and overseas; Shangxia Chuang island is the third destination which faced to guest from Zhujiang Delta and emigrations. From product aspect, jointed region should follow three principles:the first is to use advantages; the second is to avoid similarity; the third is to exploit step by step. And then, the west island tourism region can get sustainable development.
