Abstract:Bo people were one of the tribes once vividly living at Yibin Prefecture and Liangshan Yi People's Autonomous Prefecture in Southern Sichuan Province, but suddenly they disappeared mysteriously.
Bo People were the oborigines of Southern Sichuna. They were compactly living in the subtropical mountain area with moutains and streams. To their mode production, they gave priority to fishing with paying less attention to cultivating and planting. To their life style, they prefered coiling hair, short shirt, straw sandals and so on.
The suspending coffins of Bo People, a series of woodern coffins suspending on the sheer precipice and overhanging rocks, as the folklore of making by the ancient Bo Peple, were named. On the cliffs the suspending coffins put, many cliff pictures were found, which mostly focused on production and life scenes of their ancesters.
It found out, in all the gorge areas with Yangtse River in the north, Indonesian Archipelagos in the south, Qingzang plateau to the west and pacific islands in the east, the suspending coffins have been discovered and formed a broad suspending coffins zone.
In Wanli Year of Ming Dynasty, Bo People were sanguinarily slaughtered by the military force of government and wanished after that.
