A SUMMARY OF THE STUDY ON TOURISM ENTRANCE TICKET IN CHINA

Abstract  As the ticket price of most parks in China is going up sharply in recent years,more and more scholars and researchers have paid attention to this phenomenon.
Based on numerous relevant literatures,this article summarizes the main contents of previous study on park ticket in China.1)The facture of the park ticket.Previous literatures are mainly concerned with the art and technique elements involved in the ticket making.2) The price of the park ticket.Literatures focus on three main aspects.First,it's the comments on the price fluctuation of the park ticket.Scholars have made efforts to explain that why have been the ticket prices of many scenic spots rising sharply.Second,the discussions about why had the ticket price increased so much.Third,it's about how to make the price such as how to make an appropriate price of the park ticket for the locals and the customers respectively.The qualitative evaluation and quantitative evaluation methods were adopted in those literatures.The qualitative evaluation focuses on the factors which would affect the price;while the quantitative evaluation pays more attention to in what extent the factor would affect the price.Up to now,qualitative evaluation has been adopted more frequently in the analysis while the employment of the quantitative evaluation still relatively rare.It is likely that the latter or a mix of the two methods would be used more in future.3)The marketing and management of the park ticket.Most scenic spots implement Two-Part Tariff which means tourists have to pay not only the entrance ticket but also many other tickets inside the scenic spot.Many tourists considered it to be a waste of money and inconvenient.The appearance of One-Ticket System is welcomed.It's agreed by most scholars that the forming of ticket selling strategy which aims at gaining a mutual benefits between the scenic spots and tourists should be based on the fully consideration of the tourists' convenience.As to the management,though there are some proclaimed statutes about price,there still exist some problems,In order to solve those problems,the government should set down special regulations or law about price as soon as possible,with consideration of the suggestions that given by experts in tourism or price departments and the warm-hearted people.4)The functions of the ticket price.Some scholars point out that,holding the wrong view,some scenic spots equate "park ticket economy" with "tourism economy",and they take for that increasing ticket price leads to higher income,but this action will make the tourists in a cleft stick.Others believe that the price of park ticket could be a lever adjusting the tourism capacity to a balanced level.Besides,several other functions of the park ticket have also been discussed.
