Abstract Tourist flow is the premise of tourism industry and also is one of the core issues of tourism research. At present, the research of tourist flow is focused on spatial and temporal characteristics, diffusion of tourist flow inbound, while the tourist flow driving force is weak. Tourist flow as a social phenomenon of mass population movements, its driving forces are complex and multifaceted. The reason of tourism flow is one of the important and difficult content of tourism geography; it deals with geography, psychology, economics and sociology multidisciplinary field. The research of tourism flow driving force can analysis the needs and conditions of tourists, provide the correct and effective marketing protection for tourism destination managers. After sorting out the domestic and international tourism literature, taking the foreign tourists to China as the research object, the author made an assumption:the push and the pull drive are not independent of each other. In response to this hypothesis, this paper applies structural equation model(SEM), categorical principal components analysis(CATPCA) and Pearson correlation analysis to study the correlation of the push and pull drives. The author proposed the psychological stratification plane's push force and the pull force existence incident cross-correlation's supposition for the first time in domestic, and obtained two kind of sensation pull forces to be possible to enhance two kind of motive push forces. At the same time, the variance analysis measures were used to measure the dimensions of the push and pull factors. Not only the study results had broaden and deepen the study of tourism flow force mechanism system in theory, but also been helpful for the destination managers with specific recommendations.
