Abstract：Following the rapid development of domestic tourism, recreational area around metropolitan becomes the main destination for urban residents, and exploiting recreational area around metropolitan becomes the hotspot and the relative research has been concerned. The paper is based on forming and developing factors of recreational area around metropolitan, probes into evolution rules and provides the experience for plan. The paper expatiates the current research of leisure and recreation, reproves on the research background, significance, research techniques, thoughts and research data, etc. Then it divides the development of recreational area around metropolitan into four stages, and concludes the developing characters and spatial structure by analyzing market and place of Wuhan city. Based on relevant theories of geography and questionnaire, the paper studies the evolution and development of recreational area of Wuhan and then concludes the rules of spatial evolution.
Firstly,spatial evolution takes on converse spatial levels of advancing recreational area around metropolitan. At initial states, recreational areas are not developed in the fringe of Wuhan city but in the long-distance cities, which are 100-300km apart from Wuhan city zone; During the metaphase, recreational areas are developed in the suburban of Wuhan city. However, they are mostly developed in the external range apart from Wuhan city.
Secondly, it represents spatial agglomeration of function direction. Recreational function is spatially different. On the one hand, sight-seeing recreational areas are concentrated primarily in the long-distance cities apart from Wuhan city, but leisure recreational areas are distributed mostly in the fringe of Wuhan city. On the other hand, recreational areas take on three circles:internal one with most artificial entertainment, middle one as primary with leisure actions and external one centralized with sight-seeing behaviors.
Thirdly, it also probes into regional integration of exploiters. The whole regional integration developed in to three chases. At the initial states, recreational areas are not completely developed and have not enough functional linkages, taking on punctual structure means "one point tour"; With the regional areas developed largely and organized adequately, its spatial configuration takes on liner structure which means "one liner tour"; Coming into its autumn, it puts on the whole unit and some tourism actions agglomeration with functional conformity, products combine, market unit and planning harmony, and take on spatial integration which means "one district tour". All tour districts are organized into the regional syntheses with tourism function primarily and the tourism syntheses take on zonal space means "recreational belt around metropolitan" (RBM), which is the mature and advancing form of recreational area around metropolitan.
