Abstract:When the study on the residents' non-home made food consumption behavior was made, some techniques in Behavioral Geography and Time Geography should be applied extensively. The authors of this paper designed and received questionnaires with the random sampling from 100 families in Guangzhou city's residence, getting important information for the sort of non-home made food consumption, together with the consideration on its different purpose. The purpose includes four basic types: self-demand, dining together with relatives and friends, the political and business communication and the event and festival as well. Furthermore, the authors revealed that the intense negative correlation between type of consumption purpose and consumption level, and the regulation was hardly under the control of other factors.
Based on these questionnaires, this paper analyzed the time characteristic of the non-home made food consumption behavior. For the food consumption frequency, there were negative correlations between frequency of non-home made food consumption and the inevitability of other life consumptions; the consumption frequency was the highest in the supper time with the lunch second; For the consumption duration, there was one food consumption peak at 4:00PM-10:00PM and another second consumption peak at 11:00AM-2:00PM. The food consumption for the purpose of self-demand was mainly happened in the period of breakfast. Further research showed that there was complex relationship between the complexity of the food consumption purpose and consumption duration.
Firstly, for the spatial distribution of the food consumption, it could be found that there existed a Spatial Distribution Map in the different consumption level, and at the same time, there was a layered distribution in the different type of food consumption behavior. There was a four-layer even circle structure existing in the different type of food consumption behavior, and the luxury food consumption frequency improved with the increase of distance to the residential district. Some close relationships were reflected in the communication and trip distance, the even trip distance was effected by the distance between the residential district and CBD.
Then, in the more research, the connection between the Spatio-temporal characteristic of the food consumption behavior and the diversity of residents' personality was approved in the paper. As a result, this research could provide theory reference for the target market position of the catering enterprises in Guangzhou city, in practice aspect it had important significance for building standard and Healthful marketing environment. Furthermore, some correlation theory in the time geography and the behavioral geography was enriched and to be perfected to some extent.
