Abstract:Human Geography has released its hundredth issue lately. It has always been following the development as well as research progress of cultural geography in China since the day of its first issue came out. Although the strength of cultural geography in China today is still far from mature, it indeed has achieved some great goals and with a bright future ahead. In the past one hundred issues, as a breeding ground, an experimental field and a bridge, Human Geography promotes many branches of human geography including cultural geography in China. Moreover, the periodical also encourage and support numerous researchers and students to grow from immature to self-confident.In order to obtain a comprehensive insight of the domestic research and development context in the last twenty years, this paper analyzes the articles published on this periodical. The analysis includes the number of articles, the authors as well as the content of the research achievements. The findings show us a fact that cultural geography is in a critical stage of vigorous development nowadays. With the new circumstances of social development and the rapid growth of the discipline itself, it is necessary for domestic cultural geography study to draw lessons from some brand-new theoretical perspectives and some new methods. More importantly, we should increase the frequency of academic exchange by communicating with international scholars and academic associations. Human Geography should also play an essential part in this process of introducing the research findings with Chinese or regional characteristics to other researchers all over the world.
