THE KNOWLEDGE MAPPING OF ECONOMIC GEOGRAPHY BASED ON ECONOMIC GEOGRAPHY

Abstract：Taking the paper data and citation data as source, the study conducted the bibliometric and knowledge mapping from the aspects of authors and keywords with the Citespace tool to sort out the knowledge basis, the academic communities and recent research hotspots. We found that, firstly the evaluation results would be more objective and comprehensive if the paper quantity as the first author, h index and g index et al, which were indicators from the two angles of publishing and citing, were added to the evaluation system of author academic influence. Secondly, the USA and UK were the predominant countries in the research of economic geography. Thirdly, there existed four academic communities with representatives like Stopper M, Dicken P, Berry B. J. L. and Casetti E. who adhered to the same and similar research topic,which had different emphasis in every period. Among them, the academic group with Storper M. at the core included Scott A J, Harvey D, Martin R. and Massey D, and mainly focused on evolutionary economic geography, socioeconomics, economic geography of innovation and radical geography. Moreover, the keywords of the economic geography had wide research scope, such as globalization, innovation, network, cluster, gender, labor, politics, policy and so on. Recent research placed more attention to the keywords such as scales, organization, flexibility, politics, the USA.
