Abstract：The city space evolution includes two sides, namely the scale expansion of city land used for construction and the quantity distributive proportion and spatial structural evolution of city land used for construction.This article puts forward first the four characteristics-the time order feature, type characteristic, landscape expression and benefit characteristic of city land of Wanjiang Economical Area (WEA), simultaneously analyses correspondingly its forming mechanism.Then the four characteristics and forming mechanism-the changing degree, changing direction and type, the relation with city function and developing circumstances of city land of WEA are analysed detailedly.
