ACADEMIC DIALOGUE AND PROGRESS IN HUMAN GEOGRAPHY
TANG Mao-lin
Academic dialogue is one of the preconditions and guarantees for the healthy development of academics. Academic translation and taking part in international conferences are important ways for Chinese scholars to talk with the world academic. Although this kind of dialogue with international academic circles is important, the interaction and dialogue between domestic disciplines and sub-disciplines or research approaches are more important and often ignored by Chinese scholars. Dialogue between disciplines is an important mechanism to ensure the healthy development of science, and this kind of dialogue is particularly important for geography (geography is positioned as a bridge discipline), and helps to improve the social identity and discipline status of human geography. The basic forms of academic dialogues include academic seminars, literature reviews in papers, theses and monogoraphes, review papers, project proposals, and debate between journal author(s) and peer experts. The communication and dialogues within a discipline are equally important, involving strengthening the dialogue and confrontation between different research approaches, improving the discussion links of academic seminars, and strengthening academic book reviews. In order to fulfill the mission of human geography, we need to pay close attention to various forms of academic dialogue, to eliminate misunderstandings, to enhance the consensus among scholars, to make more efforts in explanatory progress and conceptual progress, to tolerate academic criticism, and seriously to absorb the beneficial components of academic criticism, and to promote the knowledge production and disciplinary progress.

GEOGRAPHICAL STUDIES ON POLITICS OF MOBILITY: ORIGINS AND TOPICS
TAO Wei, LIN Ke-feng, TANG Pei, LIANG Jin-feng
Mobility is a way to connect people, things and places. The "mobility turn" in the 1990s triggered a reflection in the academic community on the issue of "mobility", claiming that spatial mobility had richer meanings rather than measuring the cost of time and space. Subsequently, it promoted the proposal and development of "geographies of mobility", in which mobility had become an important geographical concept beyond space, location, network, scale, and territory. As a result, mobility needed to be placed back at the center of geographical research. And then, mobility research attempted to break through the limitations of the traditional disciplinary framework, and thus it proposed a "new mobilities paradigm" and called for multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary research with a focus on diversified mobility practices and their meanings. With the increasing attention paid to political issues such as differentiation, imbalance, fairness and justice within mobility practices, the concept of "politics of mobility" has emerged in this process and become an important topic with academic and practical value in the study of new mobilities paradigms. The geographical study of "politics of mobility" in Western literature has gradually become a prominent subject. From the perspective of geography, this paper combines and analyzes existing literature, trying to deepen the understanding of the politics of mobility and reveal its development process and current situation.

A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW ON SMART COMMUNITIES IN WESTERN COUNTRIES
GUO Kai-fei, JIANG Hua-xiong, DAI Te-qi, SONG Jin-ping
As the basic unit of smart city, smart community is the practice of smart city on a smaller scale. This research reviews the research on smart communities in Western countries in the last ten years. It aims to make up for the deficiencies of the discussions in Chinese documents in aspects of basic connotation, development characteristics, components, development goals, and existing problems of smart communities. Review shows that the meaning of smart community is mainly defined from three perspectives: a technical perspective, a human capital perspective, and a social-technical perspective. The components of smart community involve provision of community service, establishment of community facilities, community governance, etc. Smart facilities in communities include information and data of smart facilities such as transportation, energy, home construction and environmental monitoring. Smart community governance refers to the service system developed by using ICT technology and participating in community governance. The field of community smart service is the application of ICT technology to provide residents with various services closely related to their daily lives. There are four development modes of smart community: Government-led, government-enterprise-resident multi cooperation, private drive and community autonomy. The evaluations of smart city are made from two main dimensions-community construction and development and residents' quality of life of the smart community. Meanwhile, smart communities are confronted with problems such as privacy, digital divide, delays in data processing, lack of voice from residents, and lack of long-term management and monitoring. A systematic review of the research on smart communities in Western countries helps to promote the further research and development of smart communities in China.

THE IMPACT OF URBAN HOUSING PRICE ON THE SETTLEMENT INTENTION OF FLOATING POPULATION: A CASE STUDY OF THE YANGTZE RIVER DELTA REGION
YIN Shang-gang, WANG Rui, ZHOU Jun-jie, CHEN Fang-bin
Housing price are a hot topic of social concern and a crucial factor influencing the settlement and well-being of the floating population. This study examines 41 cities in the Yangtze River Delta region from 2012 to 2018. By employing exploratory spatial data analysis, we investigate the spatial correlation between urban housing prices and the willingness of floating population to reside in specific areas. Through the utilization of spatial panel econometric models and geographically and temporally weighted regression (GTWR) models, we reveal the overall impact and spatial heterogeneity patterns of urban housing price on the settlement intentions of the floating population. The findings are as follows: 1) Housing price in the Yangtze River Delta region exhibit an "east high, west low" pattern, while the settlement intentions of the floating population show a "west high, east low" pattern. Both housing price and settlement intentions demonstrate an upward trend, with increased spatial disparities in housing price and reduced spatial disparities in settlement intentions. 2) There is a strong positive spatial correlation between urban housing price and the settlement intentions of the floating population. However, a significant negative spatial correlation exists between the two factors. 3) Urban housing price have an overall negative impact on the settlement intentions of the floating population. 4) Stable housing price contribute to an increase in the settlement intentions of the floating population, whereas rapid increases in housing price hinder such intentions.

ECONOMIC RESILIENCE AND ITS INFLUENCING FACTORS BASED ON NIGHTTIME LIGHT DATA FROM THE BOHAI RIM REGION DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC
ZHANG Xue-bo, LU Bing-kun, HE Zhi-hao, WU Jiang-nan
Based on nighttime light data from the fourth quarter of 2019 to the fourth quarter of 2021, thisstudy analyzes the spatiotemporal evolution of economic resilience at different timescales in the Bohai Rim region, and explores the main factors influencing regional economic resilience. The conclusions are as follows: 1) Economic resilience in the Bohai Rim region exhibits significant fluctuations on a quarterly basis, with Beijing and Tianjin experiencing greater volatility than other provinces. However, from an annual perspective, changes in the overall economic resilience of the region are relatively minor, and the differences in annual economic resilience among the provinces and cities are not pronounced. 2) The northern part of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration displays high levels of economic resilience both quarterly and annually, consistently demonstrating a "high-high" clustering in terms of economic resilience. The middle and southern Liaoning urban agglomeration overall shows a lower level of resilience, yet the overall trend is positive. The Shandong Peninsula urban agglomeration, on the other hand, exhibits considerable internal differences in economic resilience levels. 3) While the diversification of industrial structures has a dampening effect on quarterly economic resilience, social consumption and government regulation contribute to enhancing it. Differently, there is an inverted U-shaped relationship between the advancement of industrial structures and annual economic resilience. Along with the level of industrial advancement increases, the positive impact on annual economic resilience gradually diminishes. Additionally, the positive effects of technological innovation manifest with a certain delay, and an increased level of openness to the outside world does not favor the enhancement of annual economic resilience during the pandemic period.

YU Ying-jie, DU De-bin, LI Qi-xiang, XING He-xiang
The study examines the clustering characteristics and formation mechanisms of knowledgeintensive manufacturing industries at various scales. The results show that: 1)The computer industry has the highest agglomeration intensity, and the agglomeration intensity of each industry in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei is higher than that in the Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta regions. 2)At the city cluster scale, industries are primarily concentrated within a 100 km radius. 3)City-scale industries are mostly concentrated within a 40 km radius, with a small number of industries clustering in peripheral areas. The Beijing-TianjinHebei region exhibits a 'spreading type' agglomeration, while the Yangtze River Delta is of 'local type' and 'multi-centre type', and the Pearl River Delta is of 'multi-centre type'. 4)The scale of city clusters is determined by regional resource endowment and comparative advantages. The characteristics of agglomeration in each city scale vary depending on spatial differences in production costs, industrial policies, and local protectionism.

THE PATH EVOLUTION OF PORTS INTERGRATED INTO THE BELT AND ROAD CONSTRUCTION: A CASE OF TIANJIN DONGJIANGGANG PORT
WU Die, WANG Shu-fang, MENG Guang-wen
Port connects home and abroad, together with the Belt and Road initiative, effectively promote regional economic development. However, there are unclear problems in the port of participating in the construction of Belt and Road initiative, and limited participating in the global production network (GPN) . Therefore, this paper constructs the theoretical framework of port participation in the construction of the Belt and Road from the perspective of GPN, and takes Dongjiang Port as an example. The main conclusions are as follows: 1) There is a cross-level interaction among multi-level actors in port operation, Ports establish financial and logistics channels to participation in the GPN. 2) The participation of ports in the construction of the Belt and Road reflects the path evolution. The initial stage of port integration mainly depends on the value capture and value creation, while the value promotion behavior appears in the consolidation stage, and the high-quality development stage is reflected in value creation and value promotion. 3) The innovation of value behavior at the local and enterprise levels of Dongjiang Port shortens the evolution process of initial stage, promote the port to enter the high-quality development stage under the external stimulus, and appears the value behavior turn, and becomes the fourth generation port as a trading port.

WANG Tian-xin, GE Da-zhuan, LI Jie, YUAN Zi-yi, WANG Xiao-wei
Balancing the supply and demand of residential care facilities is an important task in building an age-friendly society. This study analyzed the spatial characteristics of the supply and demand of residential care facilities in Nanjing based on data from the sixth and seventh national censuses at the street level. Accessibility of residential care facilities in Nanjing was calculated and spatial matching analysis was conducted between accessibility and the proportion of elderly population to study the supply and demand status. The study found that: 1) The aging population in Nanjing increased rapidly from 2010 to 2020, showing a "high—low—high" circular structure pattern from the central city to the suburbs, and the elderly population was concentrated and agglomerating increasingly over the decade; 2) Residential care facilities were more concentrated in the central city, and accessibility rapidly decreased from the central city to the periphery, indicating a significant uneven distribution; 3) The supply and demand of residential care facilities in the central city and main urban areas matched relatively well, while in the suburbs, the supply and demand were not coordinated and local demand could not be met. Based on the analysis and measurement of the supply and demand of residential care facilities, this study provides a basis for optimizing the spatial layout of residential care facilities in Nanjing.

A STUDY ON THE URBAN CREATIVE SPACE PRODUCTION BASED ON THE PERSPECTIVE OF "STAGE-INTERACTION": A CASE STUDY OF LEI STREET IN HEFEI
')" href="#">
LI Gui-sha, ZHAO Chun-yu, LIN Shan-jin, LU Lin
In the context of deep integration of culture and tourism, creative space is the material carrier and concentrated expression field of urban culture and spirit, as well as an important breakthrough point of cultural production and tourism development. This paper selects Hefei, a central city with vertical economic rise, as a case study. The researchers obtained text and photo data in two ways: One was to interview tourists and merchants in Lei Street, Hefei, and the other was to collect text and photo data of comments on the Internet. We constructed the theoretical analysis framework of creative space production combined with StageAuthentic theory and Interactive-Ritual-Chain theory in Lei Street, explored the production process and mode of urban creative space under the intervention of tourism, and analyzed the internal logic of tourists' interactive practice promoting the reproduction of creative space. This paper found that the production mode of Lei Street creative space is the mode of top-down and bottom-up collaboration, that is, it is jointly produced by the government, enterprises and tourists. Under the guidance of urban renewal and cultural tourism development policies, developers invested in the construction of Lei Street to obtain the right of spatial domination. They set a symbolic and immersive creative stage through creative landscape and creative activities, uses the stage order to guide visitors to gaze at the landscape, and finally constructs the spatial representation of urban culture and traditional cultural images.

WALKING IN THE STUDY SPACE: THE REPRESENTATION AND THE NONREPRESENTATION OF THE STUDY SPACE FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF HOME
SONG Jia-ni, LIU Pei-xue, ZHANG Jian-xin, HE Jia-wei, LI Jia-min
From the micro-geographical perspective, the home, as a microcosm of society, constitutes a space where material and emotions intertwine. The geography of home has become a prominent topic in human geography in recent years, in which many scholars pay attention to the exploration of specific domestic spaces. The study space, as a distinctive space in Chinese traditional culture, plays a significant role in the evolution and development of the home. This research, based on the collection of online textual data, adopts grounded theory and utilizes Nvivo 11 as a qualitative analysis tool. It takes the representation and non-representation as its perspective and delves into the study space of intellectuals in Chinese universities from the viewpoint of home. The findings of this research reveal a fascinating expansion process of the study space throughout the long-term urbanization process. From its humble beginnings as a 'temporary space', the study space has evolved into a 'semi-space', and an 'independent space', and, in some cases, even culminating in the emergence of a 'super space'. The study space is symbolically represented by 'culture and feelings', showcasing the personalized self-order of university intellectuals. The non-representation of the study space is equally intriguing and multifaceted, characterized by both practical and emotional dimensions. The practices of university intellectuals in the study space include work and daily practices as well as spatial production practices such as spatial conflicts. The representation and non-representation of the study space are interconnected and mutually influential. Intellectuals construct and represent the study space through imagination, while the personalized environment of the study space enables them to practice more effectively.

EXPLORING THE IMPACT OF COGNITIVE FACTORS ON TOURISTS' EMOTIONS AT SKI RESORTS: A CASE STUDY OF BEIJING-ZHANGJIAKOU AREA
JIANG Yi-yi, XU Hai-bin, ZHANG Yi-ni, FANG Yan
This study conducted a comprehensive analysis of comments from ski tourists on 29 ski resorts in the Beijing-Zhangjiakou area, collected from the popular social media platformWeibo. It employed the SnowNLP model and TF-IDF algorithm to dissect the emotions of ski resort tourists and develop cognitive factors. Additionally, by leveraging the random forest algorithm, the research explored the varying degrees to which distinct cognitive elements influence tourists' emotions. Results show that among all categories of ski resort visitors, positive emotions constitute the highest proportion, while neutral emotions account for the smallest share. As the ski resort level decreases, the prevalence of positive emotions also diminishes. The place/region element emerges as the most pivotal cognitive factor for ski resort visitors, in contrast to humanistic and architectural cognition which hold lesser significance. Among these factors, the central cognitive components for visitors experiencing positive, neutral, and negative emotions are activities, place/region, and facilities, respectively. Notably, substantial divergences exist in the significance of diverse cognitive elements concerning the emotions of visitors across different types of ski resorts. The findings of this study provide a crucial scientific foundation for comprehensively understanding the cognitive and emotional aspects of ski resort visitors, offering valuable insights for the ski resort management strategies and contributing to the enhancement of visitor satisfaction and loyalty.

THE INFLUENCE MECHANISM OF DESTINATION BRAND PERSONALITY ON TOURISTS' BEHAVIORAL INTENTION: A CASE OF BEIJING
LI Chuang-xin, GOU Wen-jing, WU Fang
As one of the key factors to attract tourists to travel destinations, brand personality has always attracted great attention from scholars. Based on the self-regulating attitude theory and questionnaire survey data, this paper quantitatively analyzes the mechanism and path of the influence of destination brand personality on tourists' behavioral intention. The findings are as follows: 1) The hypothesis test results based on the self-regulating attitude theory verify the "evaluation-emotion-behavior" process of the influence of destination brand personality on tourists' behavioral intention. 2) Self-consistency, positive emotional experience and satisfaction build different mediating paths in the influence of destination brand personality on tourists' behavioral intention, and the process of "evaluation-emotion-behavior" is subdivided into "perceptionemotion" path and "value-attitude" path. This paper confirmed that destination brand personality can affect tourists' behavioral intention through positive emotional experience or perceived value. Thus it effectively expanded the application scenarios of the self-regulating attitude theory, while the research scope of the influence of destination brand personality is enriched.

“PERSON-MERMORIES-SCENESCAPES”: A STUDY OF THE INTRINSIC MECHANISM OF CULTURAL INTEGRATION INTO NIGHT TOURISM
REN Li-li, LIU Min-kun, DENG Xiao-gui, LIANG Lian-jian, ZENG Xi-hao
This study focuses on a typical night tourism destination, employing a rooted approach to analyze the cultural integration within night tourism. The results show that: 1) The process of cultural integration in night tourism comprises scene creation, host-guest interaction, and embodied experiences, but is constrained by "cultural attributes", ultimately leading to the formation of memory associations and cultural internalization; 2) "Person-Memories-Scenescapes" are the three core elements that promote the deep integration of culture into night tourism; 3) The study identifies "Disembedded", "Embedded", and "Integration" as the three states of cultural integration into night tourism, emphasizing that the quality of interaction between host and guest serves as the "yardstick" for evaluating the degree of integration; 4) The ultimate objective is cultural internalization, aiming to achieve "emotional resonance", which enhances the depth and breadth of the tourist experience, providing a meaningful takeaway after the hustle and bustle of the visit. The study constructs a PMS theoretical model of integrating culture into night tourism, and proposes policy recommendations for the in-depth integration of culture and night tourism to empower the night economy.

REARCH ON THE INFLUENCE PATH OF RURAL TOURIST' LOW-CARBON TOURISM BEHAVIOR UNDER THE AIM OF“CARBON PEAKING AND CARBON NEUTRALITY”: BASED ON THE MIXED METHOD ANALYSIS OF SEM AND fsQCA
MA Jia-yao, LI Jiu-quan, CHANG Fang
This study integrated the theory of planned behavior and the theory of value-belie-norm, and on the basis of using structural equation model (SEM) to explore the independent role of antecedents of rural tourists' low-carbon tourism behavior, this study uses fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) to explore the multiple combination condition configuration of low-carbon tourism behavior, so as to reveal the influence path of rural tourists' low-carbon tourism behavior: 1) Eight endogenous factors are the core influencing factors of low-carbon tourism behavior of rural tourists, and they constitute five path formation types of low-carbon tourism behavior of rural tourists, namely cognitive-oriented, value-oriented, regulation-oriented, behavioral-attitudinal oriented and self-oriented. 2) Subjective norms, perceived behavior control and behavior attitude constitute sufficient conditions for the generation of low-carbon tourism behavior, while lowcarbon values, ethics, behavior attitude and perceived behavior control are the four necessary conditions; 3) Subjective norms, perceived behavioral control and low-carbon tourism behavioral attitude can positively predict the low-carbon tourism behavioral intention of rural tourists. 4) Responsibility attribution is difficult to drive low-carbon tourism behavior of rural tourists.

EMBODIED TOURISM EXPERIENCE QUALITY: A SCALE DEVELOPMENT AND VALIDATION
PAN Li, REN Wen-gu, FANG Rui-zhe
Evaluating the quality of tourism experience is crucial both for tourists' assessment of their travel experiences and for the tourism industry's enhancement of service quality. This paper first investigates the core essence of tourists' embodied experience quality based on the theory of embodiment. The construct of embodied tourism experience quality is defined as the extent of emotional and affective perceptions that tourists can acquire through their "phenomenal body" within a specifically organized tourism scene. The manifestations include the tourist's body, tourism scenes, and the interaction level between them. We employ a rigorous scale development process that includes theoretical deduction, content analysis, focus group interviews, and surveys to create a reliable and valid scale for measuring tourists' embodied experience quality. The scale comprises 21 items encompassing six specific dimensions: intensified sense experience, cross-modal sensory experience, and overall physical experience at the physical level; embodied awareness of the tourism scene at the scene organization level; surprising delight, and emotional sublimation at the emotional level. The tourism scene level of embodied tourism experience quality indicates the invisible power of contexts that attract and encourage tourists' physical and sensorial participations into the tourism related activities by virtue of concrete facilities, clues or elements placed in the scene. The emotional level of embodied tourism experience quality mainly emphasizes an ideal tourist-tourism scene interaction status such as the surprising delight mood and the emotion sublimation. The surprising delight mood corresponds with immersed pleasant emotions such as pleasure, flow, and peak experience, while the emotion sublimation usually comes with spiritual or internal transformations after enduring great physical challenges.
