1 RESEARCH ON RURAL SPATIAL COGNITION AND TRANSFORMATION PATH FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF RELATION
ZENG Peng, ZHU Liu-hui
Based on the theoretical explanation of the relational perspective and its application in spatial researches, the article sorts out the related thinking of rural spatialcognation researches, and believes that rural spatial cognation needs to pay attention to the spatial relations to connect the complex connotation and operation mechanism of rural space, and form the applicable rural space transformation path. The relational perspective gives a dynamic interpretation of rural space. The article divides the rural space into four dimensions:Material space, economic space, social space and cultural space, and constructs the cognitive framework of rural space from three aspects:The internal relations in multi-dimensional subsystems, the relations between multi-dimensional subsystems, and the governance means to adjust the relations, aiming to respectively analyze the spatial composition, spatial process and spatial organization of the rural. On this basis, the article divides the path of rural space transformation into three stages. The first stage is linking and integrating resources, which is establish a synergistic relationship between rural material space and economic space to carry out rural development and construction. The second stage is coordinating participants, which is promote the supporting relationship between rural social space, economic space and material space, and transform the local social entities into an endogenous force for rural development. The third stage is establishing collective identity, which is strengthen the identity relationship between rural cultural space, social space, economic space, and material space to fully stimulate development momentum, and promote the comprehensive development level of the rural. The research hopes to expand the perspective of the construction of rural space theory and provide scientific guidance for rural planning practice.

9 RESEARCH PROGRESS AND PROSPECT OF RURAL ATTRACTION
DAI Liu-yan, ZHOU Guo-hua, WU Guo-hua, HE Yan-hua
With the deepening of urbanization and industrialization in the worldwide, resources such as personnel, capital and technology are constantly concentrated in cities, rural decline, characterized by rural population loss, poverty and hollowing out, has become a common problem faced by all countries in the world. Based on the content and logical relevance of the existing research results of rural attraction, the paper reviews literatures from three aspects(comprehensive research of rural attraction, classification of rural attraction, and research of relevant content of rural attraction), and then makes a brief review. On the whole, there are abundant research results that reflect the thoughts and contents related to rural attraction at home and abroad. Research achievements accumulated by relevant scholars provide an important theoretical and methodological basis for the further theoretical development of rural attraction. The directly and systematic research on rural attraction is still in the preliminary exploration stage, and the theoretical construction and empirical exploration of rural attraction have not been fully expanded. Research on the universal law of the formation and evolution of rural attraction, the regularity of the regional distribution of rural attraction, the regulation mode and multiple paths of rural attraction and so on, need to be strengthened. Future research on rural attraction should focus on the following key directions:Research on the basic theory of rural attraction, quantitative research on rural attraction based on multi-source data, research on rural attraction based on multi-scale and multi-regional types, the evolution process and law of rural attraction, the promotion path of rural attraction, the correlation mechanism between rural attraction and rural revitalization, et al.

18 SPATIAL ACCESSIBILITY, SOCIAL CAPITAL AND MENTAL WELLBEING OF URBAN RESIDENTS: A CASE STUDY OF BEIJING
WANG Jie-jing, ZHU Wei, LIU Tao
Based on the survey data of Beijing in 2018, this study explores the effects of spatial accessibility to public services, social capital and their interaction effects on residents' mental well-being, as well as the differences of the impacts between new citizens and local citizens. The multi-level regression models and spatial analysis methods are employed to analyze both the direct and moderator effects of these factors on mental well-being of residents. We found that the degree of spatial accessibility to public services is negatively associated with the mental well-being of residents, which is more prominent in the group of new citizens. The tightness of social networks and the ability of getting financial support from social networks have significant positive effects on mental well-being. The differences of the effects, however, do not exist between new citizens and local citizens. The scale and tightness of social networks exacerbate the effect of spatial accessibility to public services on mental health. These results echo the propositions of the social ecological models of health promotion, which emphasize that the interrelationships among environmental settings (e.g. the spatial accessibility to public services) and personal attributes (e.g. social capital) can influence a variety of health outcomes, including the mental well-being.

28 RESEARCH ON SPATIAL EVOLUTION AND INFLUENCING FACTORS OF RURAL HOUSEHOLDS' DAILY CONSUMPTION IN JIANGHAN PLAIN
GUO Xin-wei, YU Bin, LI Rui-rui, ZHUO Rong-rong, ZENG Ju-xin
The change of consumption space is an important perspective to understand the evolution of contemporary rural regional system. Based on the sample survey and field interview data of rural households of Gong'an in Jianghan Plain, we attempt to reveal the spatial evolution and influencing mechanism of rural households' daily consumption in the research area. More specifically, the change of rural households' daily consumption scene is depicted with micro analysis and the spatial evolution of rural households' daily consumption is sketched with macro analysis. Furthermore, a multiple linear regression model is used to examine the influencing factors and mechanism of rural consumption evolution. The case study shows that:1) Microscopically, the consumption location frequency of rural households tends to increase, the consumption location types tend to differentiate, the low-grade commodity consumption tends to diffuse to low-grade shopping place, and high-grade commodity consumption tends to gather to high-grade shopping place. 2) Macroscopically, rural households take towns as their daily consumption centers. It is worth noting that short-distance contraction and long-distance expansion coexist in the spatial evolution of rural households' daily consumption, and the consumption node level shows a trend of extension and stretching. 3) The development of rural households' daily consumption is the result of a comprehensive effect of the intertemporal effect of consumption, the foundation of consumption capacity and the environment of consumption space.

36 GEOGRAPHICAL INTERPRETATIONS OF CHINESE FOOD WITH A MULTIDIMENSIONAL PERSPECTIVE: A CONTENT ANALYSIS OF “A BITE OF CHINA”
HE Jin-liao, WANG Xian-peng, KONG Xiang
Using a methodology of multidimensional perspectives, namely, natural, social, cultural and economic, we established a framework for interpreting the geographical essence of Chinese food, in which the food is elaborated as the product of human-nature interaction, the bridge of social relationships, the carrier of local culture and identity, as well as the globalized local specials. Empirically, the paper conducted a content analysis of a well-known TV program on Chinese gastronomy, "A Bite of China", published by CCTV. It was suggested that the fine foods in China introduced by the program are greatly concentrated in the regions in the eastern side of Hu Huanyong Population Line, with a spatial pattern characterized as ‘more in the south and east while less in the north and west’, which is highly overlapped with the distribution of ancient farming culture areas and modern metropolitan areas. In the end of the paper, we proposed that more attention should be paid to the research agenda of food geographies in the Chinese geographical society, especially an incorporation into western theories of food geographies is urgently needed.

46 AUTHENTICATION AND SPATIAL PRODUCTION OF NEWLY CONSTRUCTED ANCIENT TOWNS: A CASE STUDY OF GUBEI WATER TOWN
WANG Chu-jun, WANG Ya-li, ZHOU Yang
This paper proposed a concept of "newly constructed ancient town" from the perspective of constructivism, emphasizing its social and cultural significances. After summarizing four modes of authentication, namely top-down material construction, top-down discursive construction, bottom-up material construction, and bottom- up discursive construction, this paper developed the "authentication- spatial production" framework by incorporating theories of authentication and the production of space. This paper examined the theoretical framework with a case study of Gubei water town investigating the process and outcomes of as well as methods for cultural activation and representation within Gubei water town. Conclusions can be summarized as follows:1) The perceived space was constructed by the water town company with the authentication mode of the top-down material construction. "Renovating the new as old" was adopted as a principle producing the sense of history and culture in a brand-new material space. 2) The conceived space is the result of historical and cultural representations that embody the process of discursive construction. 3) The experiential space relies on the accumulation of tourists' individual authentic experiences. 4) During the process of authentication, elements of the spatial triad consistently interacted with each other.

54 EVALUATION OF URBAN HUMAN SETTLEMENTS RESILIENCE BASED ON DPSIR MODEL: A CASE STUDY OF THE YANGTZE RIVER DELTA URBAN SYSTEMS
LI Xue-ming, LIU Kai-qiang, TIAN Shen-zhen, GUAN Ying-ying, LIU He
Urban human settlements and urban resilience are closely related to the quality of life of residents and have become a hot topic in geographical research. In order to better explore the ability of urban human settlements to cope with shocks and build a sustainable human settlements, this paper introduces the principle of resilience into the human settlements and carries out a quantitative study on the resilience of urban human settlements for the first time. Based on the DPSIR model, an index system for evaluating the resilience of urban human settlements was established. Taking 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2018 as research time points, the spatial and temporal evolution characteristics and influencing factors of human settlements resilience of 26 cities in the Yangtze River Delta urban systems were analyzed by using entropy method, GIS spatial analysis method and geographical detector technology. The results show that:1) The resilience level of human settlements of the cities in the Yangtze River Delta urban systems has undergone significant ranking changes. 2) There are two spatial patterns of human settlements resilience in the Yangtze River Delta urban systems. The first is the overall change pattern with the Yangtze River, Qiantang River and coastal cities as the three axisbelts diminishing to the north and south; the second is a pattern of diminishing changes in the region with Shanghai as the main core and provincial capital as the secondary core. 3) Economic dynamics, energy pressure, and education level are the dominant factors affecting the resilience of urban human settlements.

71 THE EVOLUTION OF URBAN INDUSTRIAL SPATIAL PATTERN AND STRUCTURE UNDER THE POST-FORDISM: A CASE OF GUANGZHOU CLOTHING INDUSTRY
FENG Ru-zhuang, SHEN Jing, WEI Cheng
The study of urban industrial spatial pattern and structure has been one of the most important topics in urban research. As a matter of fact, the transformation of production mode will change the industrial space and the urban space. This paper constructs the theoretical framework of the Post-Fordist production mode on the characteristics of urban industrial space and structure change, then makes a case of Guangzhou clothing industry to explore its spatial pattern and structure base on the data of clothing enterprises in 2008 and 2018. The study finds that the spatial evolution characteristics of Guangzhou's clothing industry are consistent with the characteristics of industrial spatial changes under the influence of Post-Fordism, the number of small and medium-sized clothing enterprises has increased rapidly, various production sectors have spread from high concentration to networking, i.e., fashion design enterprises are mainly clustered in the central area of the city, clothing production enterprises are transferred from the peripheral area of the city center to the periphery of the city or clustered within the urban villages, and clothing wholesale enterprises are clustered in highly accessible areas with professional markets or clustered near clothing production enterprises.

81 LABOR MOBILITY, SENSE OF PLACE AND FARMERS' PARTICIPATION IN HU SETTLEMENT ENVIRONMENT IMPROVEMENT BEHAVIOR
GUO Chen-hao, LI Lin-fei, XIA Xian-li
This paper focuses on the coexistence of "labor force outflow" and "hometown return", and constructs a theoretical analysis framework of "Labor force mobility-Sense of place-Habitat improvement behavior", using the data from the 913 micro research using ordered Probit model analyzes the labor flow influence on farmers participating in the living environment improvement, and further using the Bootstrap method to verify the sense of place in labor mobility affects farmers participate in play a mediating role in the process of human settlement environment improvement. The results show that:First, the outflow of family labor inhibits the behavior of farmers participating in the improvement of human settlements, and the return of family labor promotes the behavior of farmers participating in the improvement of human settlements; after solving the endogenous problems that may exist in the model, the impact is still significant. Second, sense of place plays a significant mediating role in the process of labor mobility affecting farmers' participation in human settlements improvement:The outflow of labor force can weaken the sense of place of farmers and inhibit their participation in the improvement of human settlements; the return of labor force can enhance the sense of place of farmers and promote their participation in the improvement of human settlements. Third, considering the spatial factor, the negative effect of labor force outflow on farmers' participation in habitat improvement increases with the increase of distance to work. Based on the above findings, the government should strengthen publicity and education, improve the supervision system, encourage laborers to return to their hometowns, and enhance farmers' sense of place.

90 FORMATION AND EVOLUTION OF TRADITIONAL VILLAGE MATERIAL FORM BASED ON CONZENIAN APPROACH: A CASE STUDY OF NONGME VILLAGE OF DAI ETHNIC
CHAI Xue-rui, TAO Wei, LU Jun
The traditional village's physical form is a product of both space and time with its dynamic historical continuity. To address challenges in traditional villages' conservation and development, it is necessary to understand the generation, growth and humanistic meaning of their materials and textures. This research chooses Nongmo, a traditional village in Southwestern China, as the case to unravel the formation logic and evolution process of its material landscape through the lens of the Conzenian approach. Village space, street system, property rights plot and architectural form are the four fundamental layers for analyzing the relationships between Nongmo's material and non-material forms. We find that:1) The relationship between Nongmo's material form and social culture is complexly dialectical. Civil organizations and community governance help to shape its material form. 2) The stability of different morphological elements in Nongmo varies. The street system is the most stable morphological element, the land is relatively stable, and the building form are frequently replaced. 3) The morphological evolution of Nongmo is characterised by its temporal narrative and spatial continuity.

100 FRACTAL CHARACTERISTICS AND INFLUENCING FACTORS OF RURAL SETTLEMENTS UNDER THE BACKGROUND OF RAPID URBANIZATION: A CASE OF MAOMING IN GUANGDONG
BAO Zi-teng, LUO Xiao-long, GU Zong-ni, ZHANG Qing-tian
In recent years, with the increase in the gap between urban and rural areas, as well as increasingly prominent rural problems, the study of rural settlements has become a hot topic in Chinese government and academia. Therefore, in order to make up for the above shortcomings, based on the fractal theory and with the aid of the three fractal dimensions of aggregation dimension, spatial correlation dimension and morphological dimension, this paper studies the fractal characteristics of rural settlements in counties, cities and towns of Maoming city which is a rapid urbanization area including the whole landscape and located in the middle level of economic development to explore the spatial law of rural settlements under the background of rapid urbanization. In addition, this study constructs the index system from the aspects of physical geography, population, infrastructure and public service facilities construction and economic development, and uses Pearson correlation analysis method to explore the influencing factors of rural settlement fractal. The results show that:1) Rural settlements present multi-scale and multi fractal characteristics. 2) The spatial form and structure of rural settlements interact with each other. 3) In terms of influencing factors, natural factors dominate the pattern of villages, while the changes of population, facilities and economy caused by urban development are the main controlling, promoting and catalytic factors that affect the fractal of rural settlements.

109 INDUSTRY HETEROGENEITY AND SPATIAL STICKINESS: THE DIFFERENCE OF FIRM MIGRATION PERFORMANCES AND EXPLANATION: A CASE OF YINGDE INDUSTRIAL TRANSFER PARK
HE Zhou-qian, LIANG Yu-tian, ZHOU Ke-yang
The different performances of enterprise migration are important scientific issues in economic location theory and regional development policy. In the past few decades, the enterprise migration performance and its influential factors have aroused increasing scholarly concern. Based on this, this paper analyzes the differences in the performances of industrial transfer among different industries in different regions, and the causes by comparing the rate of putting into use of enterprises and the theoretical deduction of spatial profit boundary, from the micro perspective of enterprise migration. The results show that there are differences in the performances of enterprise migration among different industries, and the production situation of chemical and non-metallic mineral products enterprises is better than that of general equipment manufacturing and special equipment manufacturing enterprises. It reveals that the low sticky enterprises have more spatial profits than the high sticky enterprises, because they have less industrial interconnection and higher labor intensity.

116 THE INFLUENCE OF LARGE-SCALE STADIUMS ON THE SPACE-TIME PATTERN OF URBAN RESIDENTS' RECREATIONAL SPORTS BEHAVIOR: A CASE OF THREE CITIES IN CHINA
LIN Lan, ZHANG Xue, LIU Qun, ZHENG Ying-ling, GUO Zi-lin
The relationship between the influence of built environment and physical activity has been payed much attention to by geographers. Related studies mostly focused on the built environment of stadiums, their post-game consumption behavior and service quality. This paper tries to explore the influence of large-scale stadiums on urban residents' recreational sports behaviors in space and time. This study includes two core questions, one question is that what space-time patterns of urban residents' recreational sports behaviors influenced by large-scale stadiums. The other question is which factors had influenced this space-time pattern of urban residents' visitation? This study takes survey data adopted from large-scale stadiums in three cities in China, using kernel density analysis, cumulative frequency curves and multiple logistic regression to explore the space-time pattern of urban residents' recreational sports behaviors under the impact of large-scale stadiums. Results shows:1) The farther the distance from large-scale stadiums, the fewer the number of recreational sports visitors; 2) The distance of visit is within 10 km, which attracts more than 90% of recreational sports visitors; 3) Family structure, frequency of stadium activities and satisfaction of stadiums do not have a significant effect on the space-time patterns of visits.

DUAN Wan-fen, WU Jin-feng, SHI Xiao-teng, ZHENG Chao-zhong
Revealing the impact of family life cycle on tourist behaviors can provide a basis for precision marketing of family tourism. Taking Beijing, Shanghai, Xi'an, Chengdu as examples, the family life cycle is divided into nesting period (married without children), full nest-period (married children under 5 years old), full nest-period (married children 6 to 18 years old), empty nest period (married children over 19 years old), based on 2386 questionnaires, using the nonparametric test and IDW spatial interpolation method, to explore the impact of family life cycle on tourist behaviors, the study found that:1) Family life cycle affects tourists' choice of tourism destination. The visiting frequent of different family life cycles tourists have different distance decay rates of target scenic spots. Tourists in empty nest period have more slower decay rate than tourists in full nest period and nesting period. 2) Family life cycle affects tourists' tourism activity type preferences. Tourists in nesting period prefer to the camping and adventure tourism activities, tourists in full nest period prefer to the natural scenery, theme parks and vacation tourism activities, and tourists in empty nest period prefer to the rural vacation and visiting museum tourism activities. 3) Family life cycle affects tourists' choice of transportation mode. The proportion of tourists in the full nest period choosing self-driving and airplane travel is more higher than the others, while the proportion of tourists in the nesting period and empty nest period choosing train travel is more higher than the others. 4) Family life cycle can be used for the family tourism market segmentation. According to the family life cycle, the family tourism market can be divided into three segments:Nesting period market, full nest period market and empty nest period market.

RESEARCH ON THE HUMAN GEOGRAPHY OF THE COUNTRIES AROUND THE SOUTH CHINA SEA
138 CHARACTERISTICS AND SPATIAL PATTERN EVOLUTION OF POPULATION URBANIZATION IN COUNTRIES AND REGIONS AROUND THE SOUTH CHINA SEA
WANG Jing-ting, XUE De-sheng, TAN Yi-ming
Countries and regions around the South China Sea are not only important hubs for the construction and development of the Maritime Silk Road, but also an important platform for international cooperation. However, due to the differences in natural conditions, social and economic bases, and urban development stages in the region, the internal urbanization process and the urban system pattern remarkably vary among different countries. Based on the population data from 1960 to 2020, this paper presents an empirical study on the spatio-temporal characteristics of urbanization in the countries (regions) around the South China Sea. Using indicators of urban primacy index and Gini coefficient, the study yields several findings. First, while most of the countries (regions) are in later stages of urbanization, there are great differences in the levels of urbanization among these countries (regions). Second, the spatial structure of urban system in the region is dominated by strong single center structure, and there are few countries and regions with double (multi) center structure. The internal structures of urban systems have been evolved in an unbalanced manner, in the way that most countries have a high degree of urban primacy. Thirdly, The phenomenon of population spatial agglomeration in major cities is significant, and there is a tendency to further agglomeration and development.

164 SPATIAL STRUCTURE EVOLUTION OF INTERNATIONAL AIR NETWORK IN THE SOUTH CHINA SEA REGION
WANG Bo, LEI Ya-qin, ZHANG Qi
The globalization process promotes the formation of a city network in which each city connects with and evolves upon interactive flows. International airlines and flights undertake cross-boundary flows of both social elite as the carriers of capital and innovation and goods with high added value. On this basis, international airlines and flights are key aspects in revealing the interactions among high-level cities and thereby becoming a subject of intense research on city networks. Applying social network and ArcGIS analysis based on a collection of data on international passenger and cargo airlines and flights within the South China Sea region in 2000, 2010, and 2018, this study examines the network structure and spatial pattern evolutions of both international air passenger and cargo networks in this transnational region. Taking air passenger and cargo networks together, Hong Kong (HKG) and Singapore (SIN) have been the two transnational airport hubs all through the 2000-2018 period, while Shanghai (PVG), Shenzhen (SZX), Taipei (TPE), and Bangkok (BKK) have emerged as the new transnational passenger and cargo airport hubs recently. Meanwhile, Singapore (SIN) has strengthened its role in the passenger network along with Kuala Lumpur (KUL), Guangzhou (CAN) and Macau (MFM), whereas Hong Kong (HKG) has played an increasingly important role in the cargo network with Chongqing (CGK), Ho Chi Minh (SGN) and Hanoi (HAN).

181 CONNECTION AND ANALYSIS OF CHINESE PORT CLUSTERS INTERNAL STRUCTURE AND PARTICIPATING IN GLOBAL SHIPPING NETWORK
WANG Qi, WEI Chun-zhu, CHEN Wei
Based on throughput data of China's coastal ports from 2004 to 2019, this paper use HHI index, gravity model to compare competition and cooperation of five coastal port clusters. Combined with the route data of world's top10 shipping companies in 2019, the spatial pattern of port groups participating in the world's eight shipping regions is described through social network analysis. The results show that internal competition has intensified, among which the Pearl River Delta port cluster, Yangtze River Delta port cluster and the Bohai Rim ports cluster have formed multi-center hub competition mode, while the Southeast coastal ports cluster is still oligopoly concentrated, and the Southwest coastal ports cluster is still in the stage of multi-port competition. The oligarchic ports such as the port of Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Qingdao, play a major role in the external relations. The spatial connections are significantly different. The ports clusters of the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta have established relatively close shipping links with the eight major shipping regions, while the southeast and southwest coastal port clusters have a low degree of external contact. The port groups need to optimize the internal development pattern to meet the unknown opportunities and challenges of globalization.
