RETROSPECT AND PROSPECT OF THE WORK ON THE 40TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE PROFESSIONAL COMMITTEE OF HUMAN GEOGRAPHY
FANG Chuang-lin, LU Yu-qi
Human geography, taking man-land areal system as the research core, has been established as an applied interdiscipline, and served the requirement of national development. In order to promote the rapid development of human geography, the Professional Committee of Human Geography (PCHG) of the Geographical Society of China was formally established in July 1983 in Nanjing, China, and 2023 marks the 40th anniversary of its establishment. The 40 years have been 40 years of the revitalization of human geography, 40 years of its significant contribution to the country, and 40 years of vigorous development of PCHG. This paper systematically reviews and summarizes the academic exchanges and contributions to the construction of the discipline of human geography over the past 40 years since its establishment. It proposes that the work of PCHG in the new era should focus on summarizing and innovating the classical theories and methods of human geography. The PCHG advocates the joint organization of academic exchanges with other professional committees, and improves the work paradigm to serve the new strategy and new needs of national development. In the new stage of development, new development philosophy and new development paradigm, the PCHG promotes the development of human geography in China to cross a new stage, embark on a new journey, make a new voice, create a new splendor, and make new contributions.

THE DEVELOPMENT AND MULTIDISCIPLINARY PROLIFERATION OF CULTURAL LANDSCAPE GENETIC THEORY
LIU Pei-lin, ZENG Can, ZHENG Wen-wu
The theory of "Landscape Information Chain" and the structural analysis method of "Cell-ChainShape" provide theoretical and methodological support for the protection and utilization of traditional settlements. At present, multidisciplinary research has been formed on the cultural landscape gene excavation, value sorting and revitalization and utilization of traditional settlements. Landscape gene theory provides an innovative conceptual foundation and theoretical platform for the development of cultural geography, settlement geography, landscape architecture, historical geography and image design art. A systematic study of landscape genetic theory is extremely important and timely in this critical period of cross-fertilization and development of disciplines. The study shows that: 1) The cultural landscape gene theory is originated from the real demand of traditional settlement protection and development, the demand of cultural landscape innovation research, and the sociological application of the "gene" theory; 2) The theory of cultural landscape gene can be divided into three stages: Preliminary theory exploration (before 2003), theory molding and perfecting (2003-present), theory application and diffusion (2010-present); 3) Its application and diffusion have formed three main branches. 4) Although the theory of landscape genetics has been widely used, in the actual research process, there are some basic concepts of cognitive misunderstanding, cross-disciplinary "incompatible" and other issues.

PROGRESS AND PROSPECTS OF THEORETICAL RESEARCH AND INTEGRATED POLICY STUDY ON RURAL PUBLIC SERVICE LAYOUT
LUO Jing, HAN Ting-ting, PEI Li-li, SUN Ya-ru, TIAN Ling-ling
With the deepening of the rural revitalization strategy, the rational and efficient layout of rural public services has become the key to improving the quality of rural development. This paper systematically reviews the development trajectory and major issues of rural public service layout and coordinated policies, and constructs a comprehensive analysis framework around theoretical foundations, research dimensions, key links, and practical explorations. The study finds that the layout of rural public services, as an important link connecting social development and the transformation of rural-urban relations, is undergoing a transformation from single spatial layout optimization to enhanced interaction between supply and demand subjects and multi-dimensional coordination for social fairness. Currently, the theoretical system and technical methods for cross-study of rural public services are still lacking in systematic construction and updates, and the optimization path for rural public services based on urban-rural integration and supply mode transformation is still insufficient. Based on this, this paper proposes research outlooks from four perspectives: comprehensive logical framework and technical routes, big data application and methods, coordination between urban and rural public services and linkage models and social benefits, aiming to enrich the research content of rural geography.

SHEN Yu-ming, CAI Bei-lei
Clarifying the development of service geography in China and grasping the direction can help promote the resonance of service geography research with economic development and national strategies, which enhance the discipline's status. Based on geographic results of the National Natural Science Fund of China, this thesis systematically outlines the development of service geography in different stages, summarizes the development characteristics, and points out the innovative direction. The results indicate that the development of service geography in China has gone through the stages of exploration, initial formation, rapid development, as well as reform and innovation, gradually forming a comprehensive, multi-dimensional, and stereoscopic research system of service geography which is closely integrated with national and regional development needs. With expanding scope and content, together with increasingly diverse data and methods, service geography highlights interdisciplinary characteristics on practical, applied, and comprehensive. There are 5 innovative directions of service industry geography. First, it needs to research the construction of a new system for the service industry in accordance with the requirements of the times for building a modern industrial system. Second, according to the development layout of world centers, national centers and regional centers, it needs study the construction of comprehensive and three-dimensional spatial service network.Third, focusing on industrial integration and digital-reality integration, it does research on the convergence of productive service industry with modern agriculture and advanced manufacturing industry.Fourthly, closely following the development requirements of building a higher level of new open economic system, it should pay attention to high-level open development of the service industry. Fifth, in line with the development concept of sharing development which is beneficial to people, the spatial balance and co-ordination of supply and demand in public services and living services should be focused on.

PROGRESS OF RESEARCH ON URBAN AGGLOMERATION INNOVATION NETWORK
MA Hai-tao, XU Xuan-fang, HU Xia-qing
The innovative development of urban agglomeration is a new proposition endowed by the era of knowledge economy, and the innovative network has become the core issue of urban agglomeration development research in the new era. Relevant research on urban agglomeration innovation network is sorted out from three aspects, as scale characteristics, process mechanism and collaborative path, and it is concluded that: In terms of scale characteristics, the multi-scale nature of innovation network nodes and network space requires that the network interaction at different spatial scales should be paid attention to in the interpretation of urban innovation. The adhesiveness and spatial dependence of knowledge spillover between cities are the important internal mechanism of which innovation networks center on the scale of urban agglomeration and ensuring smooth internal and external connectivity of networks is key to realize the innovation of urban agglomeration. In terms of process mechanism, the important influence of urban attributes and multidimensional proximity has been widely recognized, but there are few studies on the evolution mechanism of innovative networks from the perspective of urban geography, and the quantitative empirical evidence of relevant theories remains to be broken through. In terms of collaborative path, the realization of collaborative innovation in urban agglomerations requires the dual support of planning guidance and institutional arrangements. However, there is a lack of systematic research on the innovative interaction and connection effect between different urban agglomerations. How to use case study and empirical analysis to systematically analyze and quantify the patterns and effects of collaborative innovation in different urban agglomerations will become an important issue in the follow-up research.

THE RESEARCH ON COUNTY-LEVEL POPULATION MIGRATION DRIVEN BY BASIC EDUCATION RESOURCES: A CASE STUDY OF SHOU COUNTY, ANHUI PROVINCE
WANG De, DUAN Yao-min, LI Xin-tian, WEI Dan, MA Li
This study investigates population migration driven by basic education resources within counties, using data from Shou County to examine migration patterns, characteristics, and factors. Results indicate a concentration of educational migration toward higher-end urban areas within counties, particularly during compulsory education stages, influenced by education quality, urban economic levels, and family conditions. This research sheds light on educational migration patterns within county-level areas, informing urbanization policies and spatial planning strategies. Key findings include: 1) Educational migration forms a "reverse pyramid" population distribution, mainly towards higher-end urban areas within the county, with a significant proportion of migrants in urban areas (14%), followed by development zones (12%), education-focused towns (7%), and general towns (3%). 2) Education migration is concentrated during the first grade of junior high school, with single mothers being the predominant accompanying migrants, often engaging in full-time care. 3) Education migration is influenced by factors such as education resource quality, distance, urban economic levels, and family conditions, with different mechanisms affecting various educational stages. These insights are valuable for crafting county-level urbanization policies and spatial planning strategies, particularly in addressing urban-rural education disparities and optimizing education resource allocation within counties.

A STUDY ON THE IMPACT OF RURAL UNIVERSITY STUDENTS' HOMELAND ATTACHMENT ON THEIR WILLINGNESS to GIVE BACK TO THEIR HOMETOWN
LIU Ling-hui, ZHANG Ying-xin, ZHOU Jian, ZHANG Xin-ke
Against the backdrop of the rural revitalization era, the deep emotional connection between individuals and their homeland, known as "homeland attachment", profoundly shapes the behavioral choices of rural college students. The study provides empirical evidence supporting the research hypotheses based on survey data from rural college students. The findings are as follows: First, homeland dependence, a functional attachment, does not influence the willingness of rural college students to give back to their homeland. Second, homeland identity, an emotional attachment, positively influences their willingness to give back, with a greater positive effect on the willingness to contribute intellectual resources than material resources, while it has no impact on the willingness to contribute human resources. Third, homeland dependence positively moderates the impact of homeland identity, with a greater moderating effect on the willingness to contribute material resources than human resources, while it has no moderating effect on the willingness to contribute intellectual resources.

LIU Hong-fang, ZHAO Ying, MING Qing-zhong, SONG Tian-qian
This research takes the ancient towns of Dayan, Baisha and Shuhe in Lijiang World Cultural Hertitage, as well as the ancient towns of Dali, Jianchuan, Xizhou, Shuanglang, Shaxi and Xinhua in Dali National Cultural and Ecological Protection Area as the objects of in-depth observation, examines the diverse cultural spaces closely related to cultural production, and tries to summarize the modes of cultural production in the ancient ethnic tourism towns and explores its production mechanism. Four cultural production modes are summarized and the internal mechanisms are also explained: 1) Local Culture Presentation Mode (LCPM). It is manifested as the space construction such as national cultural and non-heritage workshops, museums and cultural courtyards, and and the production of cultural products, both relying on the cultural lineage of ancient towns and cities. 2) Local Culture Reproduction Mode (LCRM).It performs as the contemporary reproduction or reinvention of traditional culture with the help of technology, art, creativity, etc. 3) Foreign Culture Transplantation Mode(FCTM). It is manifested in the migration and replication of different cultures or the personalized expression and production of spatial stakeholders to create a “cultural mosaic”in the ancient towns. 4) The Integration and Interaction of Foreign Culture and Local Culture Mode (IIFCLCM). It embodies as the combination of the foreign culture and local culture to promote the cultural inheriting and innovation.

EVOLUTION OF MULTI-SCALE ECONOMIC NETWORK OF URBAN AGGLOMERATIONS IN THE MIDDLE REACHES OF THE YANGTZE RIVER FROM A NATIONAL AND LOCAL PERSPECTIVE
WANG Zhao, CUI Yue, PENG Jia-jie, WANG Huan
From the national and local perspective, this paper constructs the internal and external economic network of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River city cluster based on the data of the headquarters and branches of the top 100 enterprises in Hunan, Jiangxi and Hubei provinces. The results show that: 1) The economic link area of the city cluster in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River is expanding, and the number of nodes and edges of the network is increasing. 2) The linkage outside the cluster is centered on the cities in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River in an east-west and north-south "cross" structure, and the economic linkage with the economically developed regions across the region is gradually improving. 3) The degree of links between nodes within the cluster has increased, and it has broken through the limitations of administrative divisions to evolve into a polycentric network structure. 4) In the multi-scale economic network, the nodes of the city cluster in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River are divided into five types according to the nodes' internal and external orientation.

A STUDY OF THE FUNCTIONAL DIVISION NETWORKS AND URBAN SPECIALIZATION LANDSCAPE OF CHINA'S CULTURAL AND CREATIVE INDUSTRIES
WANG Yan-yan, WEN Hu
While economic globalization has suffered from the impact of the epidemic of Corona-virus, and the manufacturing value chain has been severely affected, the development of China's cultural and creative industries has been accelerating, driven by the emergence of digital technology and the domestic market. Using a sample of 347 cultural and creative enterprises listed in Shanghai and Shenzhen as of the third quarter of 2020, and their foreign investments in 7, 828 companies, this paper employs spatial and social network analysis to carve out the characteristics of four major functional division of city networks in the value chain; the level of specialization in each city is measured. The study found that: Firstly, the value chain of China's cultural and creative industries is complete, and the domestic circulation pattern is basically complete. Among them, the production and production network is the smallest and the least connected; The nodes of these two types of functional networks are mostly prefecture-level cities with relatively low costs. The research and development, wholesale and retail networks are in the middle of the scale, and strong connections mostly occur between economically developed first-tier cities. Secondly, the spatial distribution of the four types of functional cities is distinctive: the research and development cities represented by Beijing and Tianjin, Wuhan, Chengdu and other national central cities are few in number and spatially dispersed. The production cities represented by Jinhua, Taizhou, Shaoxing, Wuxi and Nanjing are highly concentrated in the Yangtze River Delta. The wholesale and retail cities represented by Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Xiamen and Fuzhou are mainly clustered in the southeast coast, mainly in the Pearl River Delta and the Minnan Delta. The number of operational service cities is large and relatively evenly distributed, basically fitting the "Hu Huanyong Line" throughout the east-central cities and a few western provincial capitals.

SPATIAL-TEMPORAL DYNAMICS STUDY ON THE INTEGRATION DEVELOPMENT OF DIGITIZATION AND BASIC PUBLIC SERVICE IN CHINESE URBAN AGGLOMERATIONS
YANG Sha-sha, JIANG Xiao-kun, LU Yu-gui
The deep integration of digitization and basic public services can effectively break through administrative and social boundaries, expand the reach of high-quality basic public service resources, and contribute to achieving equitable provision of basic public services.Taking Chinese urban agglomerations as the research object, this study explains the intrinsic mechanism of the integration of digitization and basic public services based on symbiosis theory. It utilizes entropy method, coupling coordination model, Dagum Gini coefficient, and traditional and spatial Markov chain transition probability matrices to examine the spatiotemporal dynamics of this integration. The goal is to provide important references for promoting the integration of digitization and basic public services in urban agglomerations and achieving both digital service provision and the digitization of services. The study found that: 1) The integration levels of digitization and basic public services in Chinese urban agglomerations have shown a steady upward trend. 2) The integration levels within urban agglomerations are spatially uneven, with higher levels observed in central cities of urban agglomerations and cities located in the eastern coastal areas and the Yangtze River Economic Belt.Inter-group differences are the main source of overall disparities, with most urban agglomerations showing fluctuating decreases or stable internal differences. 3) Cities with higher integration levels exhibit stronger stability, while cities with lower levels show significant latecomer advantages.

GLOBAL-LOCAL INTERACTIONS FOR REGIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL GOVERNANCE: A CASE STUDY OF DONGGUAN ECO-PARK
YANG Jiang-min, HUANG Geng-zhi, XUE De-sheng
Regional environmental governance is an important research topic in the era of globalization. However, existing studies have mainly focused on the impact of local forces on regional environmental governance, paying less attention to global and local interactions. In addition, research on the role of transnational corporations is insufficient. Taking Dongguan Eco-park as a case study, this paper analyzes the global-local interactive process and mechanism of regional environmental governance from the perspective of actor network. The findings are as follows: 1) Dongguan Eco-park has gone through two different stages: Environmental renovation and environmental optimization. It has been transformed from a highly polluted remote area into an ecological urban area through inter-urban governance within a city. 2) The environmental problems and governance of Dongguan Eco-park are the results of global-local interactions. 3) Local governments and transnational enterprises play a central role in regional environmental governance. The city government led environmental renovation through administrative authority, and transnational enterprises led and supported local enterprises in environmental renovation through market power. These two actors are connected with local enterprises, which promoted the interaction of global-local elements in this region, such as capital, standards, ideas, and technology.

EXPLORING RESIDENT'S POWER PERFORMANCE IN HOST-TOURIST INTERACTION FIELD IN RURAL TOURISM
JIAO Yan, LI Hui
Host-guest interaction is the key field of villagers' participation in rural tourism, an unavoidable social interaction phenomenon for sustainable rural tourism development, and a microcosm of social and cultural collision between urban and rural areas. Yet it is not clear that residents' power states and potentials performance in interactions. To extend knowledge in this field, this study conducted online travelogue search, unstructured interviews, and participant observations. Based on field theory and social exchange theory, a theoretical model was developed to analyze the detailed process and internal logic of villagers' power generation in host-tourist interactions in rural tourism. This study found that there existed three types of host-tourist interactions: commodity services, daily life and emotional knowledge. In different types of interactions, motivation, inherent resource exchange, capital gain and emotional energy present significant characteristics, which leads to horizontal differences and vertical hierarchy of villagers' power performance. A power hierarchy diagram was then constructed through a systematic analysis of host-tourist interactions, which supported for the scientific nature of villagers' power potential stimulation. This paper points out that the possession of resources is the kernel of the existence of villagers' potential. The starting point of village empowerment work should be the identification of villagers' own resources and the exploration of their potentials. These findings have theoretical and practical implications for stimulating villagers' potential, realizing effective empowerment and formulating sustainable tourism development strategies.

ADAPTATION OF RURAL TOURISM OPERATORS TO UNCERTAINTIES: A CASE STUDY OF GUZHU VILLAGE IN ZHEJIANG PROVINCE UNDER THE SHOCK OF COVID-19
YU Shu-han, FANG Yan-gang, SUN Wang-tao, LIU Jian-zhi, YANG Yang
Adaptability research is the scientific basis to deal with the impact of uncertainties and realize the sustainable development of tourism. This paper constructs a new adaptive analysis framework, combines the theory of sustainable livelihood and BP neural network method, and conducts a systematic adaptive study of Guzhu Village. The results are obtained as follows: 1) After the outbreak of Covid-19, rural tourism operators showed a significant trend of part-time employment, which mainly divided into four adaptation types: tourism promotion type, e-commerce type, worker-oriented type and subsistence type. 2) Household saving, place of domicile, human capital, homestead area and other factors are key factors affecting the adaptation outcomes of operators. 3) Exogenous factors such as Covid-19 epidemic and policy governance, as well as endogenous factors such as local characteristics, rational choice of tourism operators and scale interaction, are the main mechanisms of adaptation and evolution in Guzhu Village. Finally, the paper discusses corresponding policy suggestions based on the adaptative evolutionary path of different tourism operators.

RESEARCH ON SPATIAL AND TEMPORAL EVOLUTION OF COLLABORATIVE INNOVATION NETWORKS OF CHINESE CITIES
CHENG Zheng-yu, XU Cheng-hong
Under the background of innovation-driven development strategy, it is important to guide the highquality development of cities with collaborative innovation. Based on the patent application data of 288 Chinese cities from 2001 to 2020, using exploratory spatial and social network method, this study comprehensively investigates the spatial and temporal evolution of urban collaborative innovation network. The results show that: 1) The scale of urban collaborative innovation has experienced the development stage of "low gradual-steady growth-rapid rise", the proportion of enterprises has been decreasing, but it is still the main force of S&T innovation, the proportion of colleges has been increasing and then decreasing. 2) The distribution of local co-innovation capacity is extremely imbalanced, revealing the pattern of "strong in the east and weak in the west, and higher in the coast than in the inland"; the cross-border co-innovation cooperation is constantly expanding in breadth and depth, and has changed from a "one-line" structure to a "tetrahedron" structure; combined with the intensity of local and cross-border co-innovation, it is divided into four modes: network-intensive, local-prioritized, cross-border-prioritized, and isolated-sparse. 3) The overall network of urban collaborative innovation has changed from sparse to dense, with obvious small-world characteristics; the individual network has been continuously strengthened, featuring a prominent polarization; the network hierarchy has grown progressively, showing a significant "core-edge" structure.

STUDY ON THE PRODUCTION OF URBAN ISOLATED CULTURAL TOURISM SPACE FROM ISOLATION TO INTEGRATION:A CASE OF HUANGPU VILLAGE
TANG Xi-xi, LI Sheng-chao
This study from the perspective of proactive urban renewal, a systematic theoretical analysis has been conducted on the direction of urban isolated enclaves and its spatial transformation, as well as the production of cultural tourism space, aiming to explore the path of cultural tourism space transformation from isolation to integration. Specifically, data collection methods such as observation, semi-structured interview, and text analysis were used to empirically analyze the transformation path of cultural tourism space production, taking Huangpu Ancient Village in Guangzhou as an example. The research conclusion is that: 1)Urban villages are urban isolated, which are the fragmentation of organic spatial relationships in the city, exhibiting characteristics of landscape, management, economy, and culture islands. 2)"Power-Capital-Culture" constitutes the fundamental elements of cultural tourism space production in the context of urban isolated enclave transformation,In the production of cultural tourism spaces in Huangpu Village, the logic of power brings about spatial invasion and control, the logic of capital brings about spatial inefficiency and path exploration, and the logic of culture brings about spatial embedding and integration adaptation. 3)"Cultural Tourism+Urban Renewal "is one of the paths for the reproduction of urban isolated spaces represented by Huangpu Village. It regards culture as the core element and uses cultural tourism development as the driving force for proactive urbanization of urban isolated enclaves.

RESEARCH ON THE INFLUENCE MECHANISM OF DIGITAL ECONOMY ENABLING THE STRUCTURAL ADJUSTMENT AND OPTIMIZATION OF THE TOURISM INDUSTRY
WANG Zhao-feng, PENG Wen, CHEN Qin-chang
The scientific analysis of the mechanism and internal influence of the digital economy on the adjustment and optimization of the tourism industrial structure is an important issue. This analysis is necessary to release the value of the digital economy, improve tourism productivity, and promote the high-quality development of regional economies and societies. A panel data set of 30 provinces in China from 2011 to 2021 was employed to construct an index system for digital economy and tourism industry structure adjustment and optimization. This was followed by the clarification of the spatial and temporal evolution characteristics of the two, as well as the revelation of the influence mechanism of digital economy on tourism industry structure adjustment and optimization. The results indicate that: 1) The development level of the digital economy demonstrates a consistent growth trend, exhibiting the spatial agglomeration characteristics of "eastern > central > northeastern > western." 2) The adjustment and optimization of the tourism industrial structure exhibit a consistent upward trend overall, demonstrating the spatial differentiation characteristics of "eastern > central > western > northeastern." Nevertheless, the development level of the digital economy and the adjustment and optimization of the tourism industry structure are affected by the new coronavirus epidemic, which will decline from 2020 to 2021. 3) The digital economy is positively promoting the adjustment and optimization of the tourism industry structure, and there are regional heterogeneity characteristics. Technological innovation and industrial upgrading have been identified as playing a partial intermediary role and a single threshold effect.

Based on the theory of tourism gaze, eye movement experiments are conducted using tourism photos, combined with questionnaire surveys, semi-structured interviews methods, to excavate the visual preferences and emotional expressions of hosts and guests behind the photos of red village tourism space, and to analyze the differences in the visual perceptions of hosts and guests and their influencing factors. The results of the study show that: 1) The red village tourism space can be divided into three categories: Memorial landscape space, living landscape space, and productive landscape space. 2) Local residents are influenced by the concept of "home", local identity and other factors, and devote more spatial gaze to the living landscape space, which is the core area of perception; 3) Tourists can perceive the spiritual significance of memorial landscape space and condense it into red cultural identity, and spatial visual perception is the most obvious; 4) The visual perception of local residents and tourists of the three types of landscape space is jointly affected by the purpose of the activity and the behavioral path, and also interfered by individual factors, spatial production and other factors.
